Cool :-D - When I was in Oz a couple of years ago I saw a little Datsu truck a gardener had imported from Japan - it had two full on cockpits from the factory. Funny, such a small cab to be filled with two wheels. Wonder what ICBC and the like would have to say about that... :?

Many private driving lesson companies use cars with 2 steering wheels as opposed to Young Drivers who just have 2 sets of pedals. When they finish with them they sell them as is because it's too costly to remove the parts and patch the holes so I can't imagine ICBC would have any argument against that (although the steering and pedals probably would have to be disconnected).

Actually in Vancouver it is a bylaw that training vehicles have a steering wheel for the instructor as well as pedals. YD had theirs done by a Toyota dealer near 41st?

Is that a new bylaw? I took young drivers about 4 years ago and the car I was in only had pedals, no steering wheel for the instructor.

I took young drivers back in 1979 - just regular cars with signs on em back then...

That was when I worked for YD, oh my that is a few years ago hehe. There was talk that they were lobbying the city to change the bylaw and I guess they have.

That must be what happenned, I asked why they didn't use the second steering wheel and they said that having 2 people fighting for control of a vehicle was too dangerous.

Well the only time I had to fight for control was when I had a buddy decide to play with me a little. I did get a little practice driving in the right seat prior to getting my Delica though hehe.
