Gibson Girl.

Post by FalcoColumbarius »

I received this in my e-mail in box and I thought I would share. This guy from my HAM club was walking along the shoreline when he happened across something yellow in the rocks. Turns out to be a 1940's lifeboat wind-up distress radio, apparently water-proof. The question arises ~ how long has this device been bobbing around in the saltchuck? 70 Years? Still works. I guess they really did make things better back then.

I very much doubt it has actually been floating for 70 years. No barnacles, no rust or corrosion. And what's with the zip tie on one of the strap bars. Cute story, neat to see the inside.
