Welcome to the "Last Word Café".

Post by FalcoColumbarius »

Okay, this is how it goes: You can ~
  • talk, articulate, babble, banter, blather, broach, chant, chat, chatter, chitchat, chew the fat, comment on, communicate, confess, converse, describe, discourse, discuss, commit dissertation, divulge, drawl, drone, express, flap one's tongue, gab, gabble, give voice to, gossip, grass, hold a huddle, influence, interact, interface, intone, lecture, notify, orate, palaver, parley, patter, persuade, prate, prattle, pronounce, relate, reveal, rhapsodise, run on, say, soliloquise, speak, spill the beans, spout, squeak, squeal, talk one's leg off, tell, tell all, pratique à la tête-à-tête, touch base, reach out and touch someone, negotiate damages, use, utter, vent, ventriloquise, verbalize, voice, yak ~

regarding just about anything, within reason. Courtesy is always called upon. Site rule 1.1.1 still applies ~ no slagging or slander. What goes on in the Last Word Café, stays in the Last Word Café.

Object of this exercise is to see who gets the last word in. Edgewise scores more points.

Falco.

P.S.: I would like to acknowledge Nitty's Coffee/Chocolate/Milo Lounge from Delica Club Australia for the idea.

Falco got me thinking... so I checked Answers.com for the last word in the dictionary...
ZZZ (used to represent the sound of a person snoring.)
That is an onamonapia. So it is technically not a word. It is actually zyzzyva, a South American weevil that tends to infect plants
Huh!... whoooda thunk? :?

If you call in the next twenty minutes, because you know we can't do this all day, we'll double the offer, just add shipping and handling!

I think I've seen it in the "roof patch" aisle at Home Depot too.

I tried vegemite once, when I went to Australia in 2002. I had nightmares afterward.

Crash is a word and that is onomatopoeia. But I tend to agree with you: ZZZ is more of an expressive sound.

Fmande, good to see you... Welcome to Delica Canada. Make yourself at home ~ pull up a pew and pour yourself a cuppa, as Nitty would put it.

Mmmmm..... Marmite ~ Thick extracts that taste like soy sauce spread over toast (done on one side only). I am drooling as I type this.
