Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Post by Drumster »

"Whooping Cough" Anybody had this? Holy kay-rap it's really nasty! I've been under the influence of this for going on three weeks now and just when I start to think it's easing off... BANG! it jumps back to life all over again.
The local lab said there was an outbreak no too long ago and evidently it's still making the rounds; so steer clear of anyone who's coughing.
Cheers

How long have you lived in Canada? I have been working on this strain for quite some time. Long term Canadian residents should be immune as long as they have kept up with their booster shots. The design of this strain was to only infect new Canadians as the virus also delivers a genome payload into the host with a few slight agression modifiers for the purpose of social order.

Um, sure OK.
I've lived here all of my 60 years. Haven't had any shots since I was a kid. I never get "flu" shots and oddly enough, never get the flu. Pertussis shots, if they work at all, are said to wear off. I think I picked it up from my wife, who happens to be Asian and who didn't manifest the full blown symptoms the way I did, but certainly had something out of the ordinary going on. After 15 days of anti-biotics it's still with me but after I recover I should have natural immunity for a long time to come. :-D
