once upon a time my electrical gremlin story began with the passenger door lock locking/unlocking when I turned on the left hand turn indicator. Intermittent at best, no other issues to notice. Most recent she ran fine one night. Next evening went to turn the headlights on and nada......
I had technical problems in Clearwater last summer, and in the course of resolving them, I heard that there was a Delica owner living in Clearwater. Just wondering if you're active on this forum.
There definitely was a delica owner in Clearwater BC at one point. I know this since I bought my L300 from a gentleman in Clearwater. That was in June of 2017, not sure if anyone else in Clearwater has one.
When I tried starting the motor this morning, it kept turning over, but wouldn’t start. It’s been an ongoing issue, but it usually starts up after 3 or 4 turning the ignition. What’s weird is that occasionally it starts up on first ignition.
I tried for a while but after about 5min the battery...
Thanks so much for hanging in there with me and telling me what to do.
Hi everyone. My delica started making quite a bit of noise yesterday. It sounds as if my steering column/shaft needs some serious lubrication. When I turn the wheel a certain way the noise stops, but it's pretty much there the entire time Im driving. It's a scratchy/friction sound. I bought some...
Thanks Growlerbearnz. The noise is coming from outside the vehicle. Near the wheels/axel. It's quite loud.
I'm Fred from Belgium, but I've got one year visa here in Canada.
I just bought a L300 Exceed 4D56 with 140 000 km.
I'm going to camperize it but before I have to fix some stuff (black smoke when I'm pushing hard,...).
is this as easy as it looks? I got an insane price quote for tinting my rear windows so I was thinking to remove them, re-emulsify the rubber gaskets while they were out, and take them to the window tinter in-hand.
have you done it before? how did they come out? just those screws that are covered...
It's that easy. The black plastic pieces were originally rubber, but they go hard with age. You'll need someone outside to catch the glass.
The window on the sliding door (the one that doesn't open) is sealed to its frame with black foam- it should come off easily enough, but will probably tear...
I'm adding an espar heater to my van and want to tie into the fuel lines but I have only been successful in finding the L300 exploded fuel system diagram. The wiki section has lot of l300 materials and a couple threads on this topic located in the L300 portion of the forum, but no l400 yet....
I need a gasket for the intake fitting that connects to the intake manifold. Mine currently does not have one for some reason. I've been trying to find one online and found a similar part number for KIA and Hyundai, 2832442850. I haven't found any websites that stock it that will ship to the US....
I recently made a few exhaust and intake gaskets using Fel-Pro "Fel-Ramic" gasket material. It's held up for 12000km so far with no issues. Difficult to punch bolt holes, though, so I used a drill bit. Relatively inexpensive, metal/ fiber bonded material
I've always taken my van to CVI for mechanical work but I'm wondering if anyone recommends another shop in Vancouver (for convenience) where I can take her for a brake job and oil change? Maybe 2 different places? Should I just take it to butch for peace of mind?
Going to change oil for first time myself on my 96 L400 Diesel (had a 91 L300 Diesel before).
Couldn't confirm anywhere the engine oil capacity. Is is 6.5L like the L300 Diesel?
Have folks here successfully located (and if necessary) refilled the refrigerant at the low pressure (low side) port for the L400 air conditioning? It would appear that this port is very much buried, and therefore difficult to access.
Even if you remove the intercooler, accessing the L port in...
I cannot remember where it was, as this was 6 years ago, but I believe it is on the bottom right, when standing outside and facing the engine, down between where the batteries are, and the bus bar on the engine if my memory serves me correctly.
I was able to reach the low side without TOO much...
So, the weather is turning colder and I have noticed a notably louder whine to the turbo charger until things warm up. Temperatures are around 5C. Is this normal or is my turbo wearing out? 175,000kms on the van, L300
I'll have a look at that when I swap in the new one. If it all looks ok I'll have a spare.
Hey all, I've got a strange thing happening to my L300 these days. The headlights - both inners and one outer - are always drawing power. Not a lot but you can see the filaments glow even with the vehicle shut off. When you actually apply power to the lights one of the inners then doesn't...
Nope that's not it, but I did get more information - what's happening is the vehicle is staying in accessory mode even with the key off, so the driving lights stay on and the radio and temp gauges, as well as power to the wipers. If I disconnect the battery terminal, it all shuts off and stays off...
