Re: Timing belt confusion
Awesome!!!!
I would put a new crank bolt in it in the near future and re-torque it after since the cranks pulleys are a known problem...
Happy dieseling....

Re: Timing belt confusion
Are the tensioners tight? Did the balance belt and tensioner get changed? did it fail and get under the other belt? First thing I would do: 1) check the tensioners 2) check the balance belt (you changed this right?) 3) CHECK the crank pulley!!! did you put in the key, did it fall out. The crank pull...

Re: Low profile snorkel
you will get exactly zero more power out of the 2.5L.... I had a large snorkel (aka: toilet pipe) and turned around the intake into the stock airbox... much more direct flow... maybe ran a little cooler... but power is a dream... I also had 2.5" exhaust with side dump with and without muffler. ...

Re: Tool for holding the cam sprocket/crank pulley
I have used an old timing belt to hold the sprocket in the past.... I suspect most timing belts are the same teeth spacing so a garage may have one in the garbage

Re: excessive oil in intake
It could be a blown head gasket into an oil passage as well. Leak down test is the best test Put cylinder at top dead centre with valves closed then you add compressed air through the glow plug port (spark plug on gas motor) then you watch how quick the pressure is lost and listen at intake, exhaust...

Re: excessive oil in intake
Nope runaway is using typically the crankcase oil as the fuel.. Being a diesel no spark just compression to light the fuel so if it not using diesel through the injector pump it is near impossible to stop... youtube runaway diesel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOQ66cZaPb4 The only way to stop them...

Re: excessive oil in intake
Until you figure it out put a catch can on the oil so you do not end up with a runaway diesel... Runaway diesel is when it starts running off the oil in the intake and you cannot physically stop the engine it just revs unstoppable until it throws a rod or seizes... very scary.... Especially automati...

Re: Left Hand Drive
You also need it to be 25 years old finding a LHD 1989 delica is going to be hard... Unless you need it to be left hand for some reason I really found no difference driving on the right it is only about 3 feet between the two positions Same as boats helm could be on either side... you get use to it....

Re: Lost engine compression
what quality headgasket was used? seems like no name jobber ones do not last. Compression down the coolant passages would be enough to blow the hose up.... Headgasket, cracked head, or timing belt failure (tensioner, balance belt taking out timing belt). I would pull the cover of the belts check I w...

Re: Stock Front Bar
being a unibody it is really hard to tie a bumper to anything.... L300 by design has no crumple zone so it is never going to do well in a front ender.
Better than a motorcycle.... But if you want front end impact the l300 even with mods is not the truck...
