Re: Dual Battery accessory question
I was in a similar situation having installed a covered hammock outside on our balcony. Rather than use a 1500W radiant heater to heat the great outdoors, I just bought a Sunbeam 50" x 60" heated throw from London Drugs for $70. On High, it draws 120W (10 Amps @ 12 Volts DC thru an inverte...

Re: Dual Battery accessory question
IIRC, Jay and Christine of TardisDeli opt for electric blankets instead; they sandwich inside sleeping bags and run them at full blast while they are in transit to pre-heat up the bed while they can still draw from the alternator.

Could try disconnecting and.or shorting them when the beast is running and see which one lights up the dash indicator.

Re: rough starts
Try Seafoam in the Fuel filter or a dose of very pure Isopropyl (Rubbing) alcohol - IPA - into a nearly-empty tank then take it for a run on the highway:

Two-stroke magic strikes again!
Are you still battling comparable headwinds? If so, it'd be interesting if you tried a tankful under comparable conditions without the additives and see if your mileage craters again.

Re: Snow - chains, driving, etc....
When I went to the local CT @ 7th and Cambie in Vancouver, they had introduced a new shop policy to not work on RHD vehicles. They'd sell me the tires, but did not want to install them. I eventually had them done there under the radar by a sympathetic shop supervisor / RHD enthusiast, but he said th...

Any L400 A/C experts out there? Specific questions/advice.
I've done some troubleshooting on my A/C (which has been blowing less and less cold over recent months) and although I've made improvements, I've come to the point where I have an L400 question and I also need some general advice from any lurking A/C techs out there. Props to the many threads both h...

Re: Horrible fuel economy...winter diesel?
You're gonna love it the closer you get to Alberta. Diesel is high for us right now at $1.13/L, which is still pretty low in relation to much of the rest of the country. You might have enough left over in your budget to buy some drinks! Craig Groan. Filled up today at the Shell around the corner in...

Handbrake off 8-) But seriously - three fillups in one day? Thatsa lotta miles! Noticeable lack of power? Change in smoke output? Seized brake caliper? (Does it roll easily in Neutral on a flat surface?) Edit: Just noticed your other post about going 1100 kms in 16 hours; saw a bunch of pics with yo...

I like the second pic down (picture Steve Irwin's voice): "Crikey! It's a rare West Coast Delica hiding in the brush! Very unusual to see a beaut like that all the way out East here. Careful now; don't startle 'er! She'll disappear in a cloud of black smoke just like *that*!! (snaps fingers)&qu...

Re: Name that sound
Not sure about the L300, but on my L400 I believe the emergency brake shoes are enclosed on the inside of the rear wheel assemblies, and mine make a slight whining/scraping noise sometimes (only) when I reverse.

Re: If you had it to do over again, what would you do differ
300s and 400s are both nice vehicles, but for me personally I'm still glad 3 years in that I chose the L400: http://www.delica.ca/forum/new-delica-hopeful-in-calgary-9659.html#p73451 The only thing that could be better for me now is that the parkade where I used to live was quite low-roofed and spac...
