Re: The end of VW buses....
I just meant that all the pre eurovan VWs are closely related - I love dem L400s
Now, if you could stick a subaru engine into my L300, then I'd be happy.

Re: The end of VW buses....
I had a 71 when I was 17 - I loved that van. yes, they truly are the best. Speaking of subaru engines in vanagons (which are much closer in spirit to the old buses than L400s are to L300s), here is an interesting read: http://www.expeditionportal.com/adventures/2530-drive-nacho-drive-nacho-s-new-hea...

Re: overheating
My van suddenly started overheating once - the temp gauge suddenly went over 3/4 and hot freaked me out. I turned the van of immediately waited for it to cool, started it up again - same thing. Turned out it was just a bad sensor. If everything else is normal, it could be this simple.

Re: I Want to Sell My L400 this Weekend.
I too, had a hard time selling my 97 L400 last year. It took months - even though it was in beautiful condition, and was thousands below what the dealer were selling them for. In the end, I sold it for just over $7000, which was only slightly more than it cost me to import it and do the compliance a...

Re: Holy cr*p, this is, this is...
But what struck me was how almost all of those accidents were - as cops know all too well - obvious blunders and failing to abide by the rules of the road. And it's a stark reminder how a split second of inattention can result in massively disproportionate consequences and tragedy. You said it! Tha...

I can't help but think that there must be hours and hours of similar footage where people weren't so lucky. Cool find though.

Re: Why such high mileage?
Rolling back the OD and falsifying documents seems like a lot of effort for a vehicle that sells for under $2000 USD at auction. The kms are in line with the thousands of other JDM vehicles at auction, many of which sell for less than $500. Now, if you are a dealer selling that van here for over $10...

Re: Coolant gurgling / scooter purchase
I think it was put on sideways. It hits 75kph easily and can get up to 80 on a moderate downhill thanks to an upgraded exhaust.

I'm convinced. I just have to sort through how to integrate it into my site - so many options.

Re: Whos cashing in their Bitcoins?
I remember Nora Young poking fun at them only a couple years ago because they were not really viable as an alternative to dollars. They were all excited about M-pesa. Question: I sell 95% of my work online - primarily through paypal. Should I start accepting bitcoins? My cursory look into it says - ...

Good point. Cycling and construction aren't exactly congruous.
