Re: RockAuto reviews?

And throw a little climate change into the mix for good measure. I think most people have forgotten, or never knew, how good it was in the 60's and 70's. You'd think that after 2008 people would wise up. Instead, we got more of the same medicine. I dare say though, we have gotten off topic. . . .

Re: RockAuto reviews?

Common folk have in many ways taken it in the economic teeth with globalization
Yet we still line up in our cars to buy crappy 99cent donuts from an american owned company that hires TFW's while making over 500 million in profits last year.

Re: At long last! Greetings from the USA

You are right about the head-turning appeal of the Deli, they get more attention than a Ferrari down here!
. . . . Especially in Portland.

I want a canter too - l love cabovers, and it's still in the mitsubishi family. These trucks are often chosen for expedition plaforms because they are so easy to get serviced around the world. Fuso's are less exotic than delicas. I like this one: I have a few others posted here, mixed in with bunch ...

Re: Pre purchase questions

If you are buying directly from Japan, why not buy directly from the auctions? You can find some awesome deals, especially on series one L400s like you are looking at. The dealer in the ad doesn't even list the KMs, or the auction grade and condition. I've heard mixed things about tradecar I used Pa...

Re: parts availability after govt. decision?

You guys noticed that the original post is 7 years old right? A lot has happened since then, like the ICBC report that the Car dealers association was using as it's primary attack, was challenged and the methodology proven faulty. All the noise that the dealers association was making has largely die...

Re: papercraft L300

I'm a newb with this too, no problem. The models that some people make out of paper are incredible. Anyway, you can see where the front and side windows join, for example, that you need to leave a little tab of paper to glue the two parts together. You could also add a little paper hinge here if you...

Re: parts availability after govt. decision?

JDM Wholesale went down in a ball of flames in 2008. They not only fled the country, back to NZ, but they took with them deposits payed by clients only days before, and they owed debts to many other local businesses they partnered with. They shook hands on deals, receiving payments for vehicles know...

Re: Dibbs on the first D5!

It doesn't bother me . . . for me a delica is road trip vehicle first. It let's me and my family get off the beaten path, and into some cool places in comfort. If I wanted serious offroad ability, I'd get a Jeep. I had a L400 for a while and it left me . . . well, meh. I like the looks of the D5. Re...

It sure seemed to stuggle with that obstacle!
It struggles until they turn on the "SC" (stuck control). Not sure what this is, but it seems to deliver power to the wheels that have traction.

Re: Dibbs on the first D5!

Why does it sound like a leaf blower?
That's funny, my sound isn't working on my laptop so I didn't know.

Looking at the auctions, there sure are a lot fewer that have off road mods than with earlier models.
