Very cool & tks. Was busily trying to figure some part numbers out in the Canadian Tire parking lot through my smart phone and couldn't get through....thought it was my phone at first, then found what I needed through search on this site. Gotta love technology when it works.....
Cheers,
Sean

Side trim strip.
Logging in away from home but will take pic later. Not so bad me thinks, I've left all trim off since cutting to fit the 31" - my intention is the fill the holes and rhinoline the lower 12 inch or so (to mach my roof!)...but that would only be after I finish my front bumper which might be 2012 ...

How to get the oil filter out??
I'm not a big fan of doing oil changes either on the deli - filter is in a terrible location and I always get messy and have not found a really good way of improving my technique. The filter is a bit tight in there for sure, but with a bit of wiggling it come out and gone in ok from the underside. F...

Not that "literate" with Wiki type things, but apparently it's not working. Anyone know how or why, or if temporary?

Re: Speedy A$$...
Yes, ICBC changed that rule quite a while ago. Rock chips used to be covered to avoid windshield replacements when chips migrated into cracks. ICBC must have done the number crunch and figured it was better to push the cost back to the owner and/or allow the chips to become cracks and pay their part...

I agree with all....and in the absence of an pyrometer...I'll be keeping her at 3000 or lower! :-D Not sure about yrs Impalator - but mine makes one hell of a racket at 3400rpm as well which I find really uncomfortable. Fortunately...I prefer the slow lane and smelling the roses. Feel free to wave a...

35 - 40 MPG !!!
Yeah - I figured that would be the result Green1 - but my first year was with stock tires and that is when I took my original readings. I was pretty bummed out. I've since done the lift and added the tires - and get the same readings much to my surprise. Now, I too thought that the speedo is probabl...

Diesels are ok to "lug" so to speak - not true with a gasser.
Valves can be damaged severely and relatively quickly if Exhaust Gas Temps get too high (EGT) - water / rad temp is important too - but EGT is way more important on a diesel.

Yeah - that type of craigslist crap pisses me off. I bought my deli on the basis of mis-information / misundertanding / and quite honestly a lack of research. I just had to have one....so - I'm taking full responsibility, and still have no regrets....but, I was quite shocked my first few weeks of ow...

Oh...come to think of it - try to keep it "well" underneath 3K on the tach. Last time I did 9 mile hill at night I could see my side exit exhaust tip glowing red hot....I know the pipe isn't that long - but I'm sure I wouldn't have been happy had I know the EGT numbers....EGT guage is also...

One thing related to the long hills on the Coqu - make sure the following IMHO; 1 - rad & cap is in good condition 2 - hoses in good condition 3 - waterpump & thermostat in good condition 4 - find a nice comfortable gear and try to keep the motor below 3000 RPM 5 - enjoy the ride...you'll ge...

Good for you & congrats! I was pretty jealous of the rear tire carrier when I picked up my ladder from Andy. Really nice rig and a great all around fellow to boot. Good luck!

Feel for you Green1 - but glad yr still bigger, newer, and hopefully better machine. Good luck with the sale - or maybe hang on to her and pull a motor out of a future write off? There's bound to be one eventually. Then you can take the old beast out on those Search & Rescue ops and really put h...

Yup - I remember a trainload of Canadian Grizzly's painted up in light tan camo loading at the old BC Rail reload in North Van bound for assessment by the Marines at Pendleton in the USA - probably around 1983-1985 era. Read about it later in the Esprit De Corps and they were raving about the trials...
