Re: Deli Hell
Buy a universal pulley holder for the $20. This is worth the money. Hey! (The theme from Welcome Back Kotter is playing in the background). So yeah- I get to try and fix this like you did. Not as lucky as you because I was able to catch mine in time before it broke a bunch of other crap like yours ...

Re: Deli Hell
WOW- That new pulley came fast! It did not come with a new key (square piece of metal to hold/shim it in place).Did you just use the old one or will that be a problem? I do not have the old one out yet so I can't compare the two pulleys, but you say it matches up exactly right? Now I am just waiting...

Re: Anyone know where to find these?
BigBird- have you ordered any goodies from this guy yet? There is plenty there I am salivating over but I wouldn't have the foggiest of how to order from him or even figure out the prices.

I got mine from Rocky Mountain Imports. One of the best investments I have made yet. My new wipers kick ass.

I got mine from T0ME. Very good quality and he ships to us for a very reasonable rate.

Re: Deli Hell
So - still wondering if it is wise to change the belts after changing this pulley. I have about 85 000km on these belts. Anyone know the change intervals for belts? I ordered the pulley. Express shipping would put the part at the same price as the shipping. I went regular because I have some time to...

Re: Deli Hell
So did you get the new front crank seal too? I am going to order the pulley tomorrow from the states. I just don't understand why that part, which most forums say is a fairly common part to go, would cost so much to replace around here. Is the difference OEM vs non-OEM?

Re: Deli Hell
Are there any other bits to be replaced when this is done? Like belts or seals. I have gone 85 000 on my current belts.

Re: Deli Hell
Alright - Now I have been getting some idea of what a vendor price is compared to the Amazon price. Not at all meant to be a slag, but the prices I am getting quoted for a new crank pully is about 5 times more expensive for a brand new one. Are we sure that this amazon crank is the exact part number...

Re: Deli Hell
Yeah, I am not sure about the ol' starter bump method as I already know how that would end for me. I tend to have the opposite of the "Midas Touch". That amazon link- can it be ordered from amazon.com and delivered to Canada? Not sure if it will let us do that. Any of you out there know ab...

Re: Deli Hell
I am having the exact same problem with my Crank Shaft Pulley. I am going to have to get under it and play around this weekend but I am pretty sure a new one is in order. It appears to be fluttering while all the top pulleys are straight and tight. Does your van make a weird squeeking/rattling noise...

Re: How To Replace An L400 Valve Cover Gasket.
Hey Firesong- does it make a difference between using the orange silicone or the grey? I have been using grey permatex and it keeps leaking. Some of the other factors I am CSI-ing to see if they are playing a part in the gasket failure are as follows: - I park on a driveway that has an incline. The ...

Re: Refinished Plastic Side Marker Lights
Thanks- yeah they cleaned up well, but it was my drill that did most of the work. Yes, that is my manual underneath them. I work well with good old fashioned hard copies and luckily I work in a school so I was able to print myself out a giant binder full.

Re: Refinished Plastic Side Marker Lights
The headlights are glass and the side markers are plastic. The plastic just gets old and weathered and needs a good buffing. The kit worked really good and they are still fairly clear.
