Alternator Belts replacement

Hello folks, I gave that all to familiar squeak coming from the belts of my '93 L300. I've ordered a new set of genuine Mitsubishi belts as well as the power steering belt from amayama. My plan was to have a friend who teaches Auto Mechanics do the job with some of his students. The problem is that ...

Front Bull Bar Removal

Thanks fellas, And thanks for the tips on how to remove the front bull bar assembly. It's difficult without having photos to look at,but it makes more sense now. I work at a local high school here in Peterborough and I'm good friends with the Auto Shop teacher. This might be a good job for some of h...

Front Bull Bar Removal

I saw this stuff at Canadian Tire. And i did some research on how to paint plastic. Seems reasonably straight forward. Now I just have to figure out how to remove the plastic along with the rest of the bull bar..... lol Planning my first canping trip in the van over the Victoria Long Weekend. It's b...

Front Bull Bar Removal

Hello folks, As I keep chiseling away at stuff on my '93 Super Exceed, I'm at the point where I'd like to remove the front bull bar and paint the grey bumper behind it as well as the black plastic on the bull bar itself. I searched for older posts on how to remove the front bull bar, but found nothi...

Wet Floor In Cab Area

The rubber mats look great, and will be far more functional I'm sure. I think I finally fixed all my leaks. Not only did I have to remove the quarter panels, but I had to seal up the drivers side windshield washer stalk. I tried to get at it from the inside of the vehicle, but it's way up underneath...

Wet Floor In Cab Area

Actually that sounds like an excellent idea!! Carpet is not very practical in vehicles. I tried to find rubber floor mats for our L300's, but had no luck in my search . Apparently they did make them for our van's, but they're very hard to find. I love the Weather Tech Floor Mats, but obviously they ...

Wet Floor In Cab Area

Hello folks, I finally got around to addressing the wet floor in my 93 L300 Super Exceed. There was lots of water coming in from outside and every time it would rain, it would get all over the fuse panel, not to mention everything else. I consulted past posts on this topic and ended up removing the f...

Is that a problem?

Well I got one thing right. I told you there's some great people on here with excellent advice. And now you're seeing it firsthand. Both Growler & Falco have offered up excellent posts and help to everyone on here including myself!! And just to clarify, mine doesn't blow black smoke, but I don't...

Is that a problem?

Your L300 shouldn't be blowing out smoke. I have a 1993 L300 with 146,000 kms on the clock and it only blows a little bit of grey smoke when started up first thing on a cold morning, usually below 0 degrees Celsius. I'm not a mechanic, this is just how mine runs. And from everything I've read on her...

Timing & Balance Belt Part Numbers

Thanks for the link Growler. I'm going to print this off and share it with my mechanic. I have some stuff already printed on the 4D56 Engine, but I don't believe it's this detailed. This is well beyond my capabilities, but not for the person who might do it. When he worked in the trade before he sta...

Seized AC Compressor

Hello folks, Not even sure why I'm thinking about this as we just got a massive dumping of snow here in Southern Ontario last night. I think we're a long way off from spring and summer, but I find being hopeful helps. And with that I'm thinking summer and warm weather:) Last fall I had to cut the be...

Timing & Balance Belt Part Numbers

That's probably one of the best posts I've seen. I really dug into it this morning and it kinda scared me. There's no way I could do what Tojo did. But if you're just dealing with the timing belts, it doesn't seem so bad. Especially if you're doing the work anyway, lol. I'm going to show thi...

Timing & Balance Belt Part Numbers

Super, thanks Growlerbearnz. I was just out buying groceries and when I got home I decided to take a picture of that number you mentioned by the drivers seat. That was a good idea. I'll have a look at that link you posted. It's nice to know that all of this information is on here. I know you do your...
