Ensure all your glow plugs are working correctly - even one faulty plug will give you horrendous starts. Also ensure all the wiring and contact points are super clean. Call up Mardy at AAI; his insurance guy in Richmond got mine processed and it was a no-brainer.

They too used the Japanese VIN on the panel behind the fusebox.

I think that's where the interior temperature sensor protrudes into the cabin, but that one looks different from the one on my L400.
