Re: Squeal from Motor
Okay, squeal was the V-belt, not the power steering pump. Here's another question: I wasn't sure what type of fluid was in the reservoir, so I bought mineral oil. I had trouble checking it, and finally realized that the mineral oil seems to be floating on ATF that was in there. Anybody know if this ...

Re: Lifted?
I tightened the torsion bars today, and it raised the front about 20mm. It really improved the ride and handling! I noticed that the driver's side is considerably 'spongier' than the passenger side. Which makes sense; there's always a driver, but not always a passenger, so it gets worn0-in more. Pus...

Re: Headlights like...chandeliers?!!
What do you mean, re-aim the high beams? Sounds like a good idea, but as far as I can tell the only adjustment is four Phillips screws that aim the whole headlight assembly. Is there a way to adjust the position of the lamp inside the housing? I looked over the Japanese lamp housings that were taken...

Re: I'm stumped
Have you checked for a dragging brake? After driving, feel each brake. The one that's (ow!) hot needs servicing.
If both rear brakes are warm, lube/adjust your emergency brake cable.
(I know it makes the mystery less exciting if it turns out to be this, but at least it's easily fixed.)

Nice job. See what you can do with 143 sharpies and 22 cans of workable fixative? :)

Re: Touch-up paint
Where exactly is this info panel with the paint colour on it? I looked around the driver's seat, but didn't find it.

Headlights like...chandeliers?!!
I am the third owner in Canada of a Delica L300, and took on the task of having the headlights replaced with North American standard lights. James at Japanoid warned me that the replacements aren't particularly good, but I went ahead in order to comply with the law. The headlights are far worse than...

Re: Squealing when cold?
I had exactly as you describe, squealing under load for the first while after a cold start. Adjusted the alternator today to tighten the belts, and looks like that was it. Was pesky to adjust, but manageable. I posted the procedure I used here: http://www.delica.ca/forum/alternator-belt-tension-adju...

Re: Squealing Fan Belt
Yeah, what a huge hassle for a minor adjustment. I did mine today, and posted my procedure here:

Re: Turbo problems ? Read here before taking it to a shop
Should I be able to hear my turbocharger in operation? I used to drive a Dodge Colt Turbo, also by Mitsubishi, and when I tromped the gas pedal I'd get this characteristic "fwwwing!" as the turbo kicked in. Never heard a peep from the L300. And it's right beneath my seat.

Re: Alternator Belt tension adjustment made easy
I gather that adjustment of the alternator to tension the belt is so difficult because they use the same engine whether it's RHD or LHD. I bet on LHD the adjustment is simple; you just lift up the passenger seat and there it is. Anyway, I adjusted mine today (RHD L300), and it was tricky, but manage...

I think most vehicles take the tach signal off the distributor. But the Deli wiring diagram in Downloads should point you to it.

Lifted?
I bought this L300 in the spring. Have a look at this photo and tell me...has the rear been lifted? Or is this stock, how much the back end is raised up?

Is it dangerous?
My L300 came equipped with a flare under the dash. Is this thing a hazard? Has it got a shelf life and is it likely to still work? Is it useful? How do I dispose of it?

Re: Squeal from Motor
Thanks for your suggestions. Today I checked for glazed belts, and they all looked/felt pretty good. I rubbed with a bit of 120 grit, but it didn't seem to make a difference; the belts are all pretty grippy. All the belts are good and tight, with the possible exception of the one closest to the moto...
