Trying to Remove Washer Jets
Oh MAN!!! I've been away from the forum for a while and totally missed this little nugget! I had gotten as far as the cowling, but was bested by my fear of breaking some unseen something-or-other (now I know it's two clips!) that was surely lurking underneath. Thanks for the info, and the pics, and ...

LWB vs SWB
SWB is better because it's easier to park, has a larger breakover angle and it's lighter. L300/Star Wagon SWBs have a large range of trim levels. LWB is better because you can fit more stuff. In L300/Star Wagon LWB only comes in Van (commercial vehicle) form. Both are better :-D Good answer!! LWB a...

Anyone Moved the Fuel Filter?
Has anyone moved the fuel filter to that vast empty space by the brake fluid? Looking for a bit of a how-to.

Trying to Remove Washer Jets
I'd heard that. I tried to jiggle some kind of pin in there, but it clearly lacked the required fortitude and broke off in the nozzle. Much cursing ensued. Now I need to get it out. I just can't figure out how to get at the underside of the jet.

Trying to Remove Washer Jets
Went poking around in there the other day (trying to angle the driver side a bit higher), but can't seem to get at the underside of the jets. Does anyone know the trick?

Fuel filter question
JS Asakashi. It's what Mardy had. I haven't changed it myself yet. I'm actually interested to see if when my mechanic changed it out, he left the metal bit on, and maybe that's been letting air into the system and leading to my cold weather start issues. Might get out there today to have a look. May...

Fuel filter question
You can just take that metal bit in the middle out. I've read (here and on UK site) that leaving it in can keep it from sealing properly, letting air into the system. Happily, they come out fairly easily with some pliers (or a flat-head).

Cold Weather Starting Issues
Have you considered temporarily fitting transparent fuel hoses between the filter and Injection Pump, and to the IP return line? I say temporarily, because transparent hose isn't usually fuel-resistant, but it'll be ok for a week. The idea being you can see if the bubbles are originating at the fue...

So I took the Deli to my mechanic to have the front seal replaced. He said there's no sense in only replacing that seal, might as well do all the o-rings in the IP while I have it out. Makes enough sense to me. He also says he's never seen a front seal go. It's always the other o-rings that go first...

Front Oil Seal - Dun Dun DUNNNNNN!!!
Feeling sheepish. After re -reading some old posts, it turns out that what I thought I had all figured out is not so much true. Here's what I know from the Cold Weather Starting Issues thread: 1. The issues I had were typical of a front IP seal problem. 2. I was originally under the impressio...

Front Oil Seal - Dun Dun DUNNNNNN!!!
So, it looks as though I need to replace my front oil seal, as it is leaking and giving my poor Deli a heck of a time in the mornings. I've been able to narrow it down that this is indeed my issue (cold start issues, not glow plugs, not air in the fuel system, blue smoke, etc, etc.) and stop leak di...

I got a second set of glow plugs from Mardy when I bought the van. I don't remember the brand, but they were some fancy-pants, made-in-Italy types. I didn't get a chance to check the fuel filter for that extra metal bit and seal in the center. I put in some stop leak Friday, which seems to have help...
