Delica cold start problems, if not glow plugs then what else?
I find starting better with my manual system after powering the glowplugs much longer than I'm comfortable with (over 10s) but I'm pretty sure I'm burning them out when I do that. I had a similar issue with the 6v "quick glow" system and the manual glow sw connected to the 6v solenoid... ...

Delica cold start problems, if not glow plugs then what else?
I don't know why, but the owner's manual says that cold weather starts should be done with the accelerator pedal fully depressed. It's currently at freezing here and my 2.5TD starts w/o depressing the pedal.

EGTs high, Truck Sluggish
Sounds a lot like it could be the injector pump shaft seal...Same deal, sluggish, high EGT's, LOTS of white smoke at start up and really rough cold starts. Runs like a sack of 'poop' until I can get on the throttle. Stalls 2 or 3 times first...

Valve clearance adjustment
The two manuals in the library have slightly different procedures. The 4G7/4D5 manual has a warm engine clearance procedure at .25mm, and a note to not let the feeler gauge touch the rocker pad... which makes little sense to me as that's what's being measured. The 91-93 (mine's a 91) 4D56 manual has...

'91 L300 Camber Shims?
The manual I purchased says it's for the L300 "all models," guess it was published before the later models were introduced. Didn't need shims... but I'm not overly enthused with the job the shop did. Close enough I guess... I'll have to see how the tires wear, at least it drives straight/n...

Most of the drips are towards the rear and from the transmission bell housing. But it appears to be running along the oil pan backwards. I see some evidence of water at the pump, and it's a cold engine only leak... pretty sure it's the seal going. I ordered a new Aisin water pump/gaskets... figured ...

12v to the glow plugs works better, as expected... I originally just figured that using the 6v was more "foolproof." Air filter looks about new/clean. Fuel filter ordered. And now I've got a "cold weather" coolant leak... not entirely certain, but I'm pretty sure it's the water p...

Relatively new owner of a 91 l300 2.5TD w/ 6v quick glow system. I currently have the glow plugs running off of the 6v solenoid manually while the controller is being fixed (I replaced the leaking caps and jumped corroded traces, but it still wasn't working so I sent it out). At first start I have t...

I couldn't locate any shims, but the manual I have for an l300 (1980+) says it uses them.

Does anyone know if the shims are the same as for similar year Pajero/Montero? I'm in the USA and I'm wanting to get a 4wd alignment done, but I'm pretty certain I'll have to provide the answers to the shop.

It's the controller box. I've got it bypassed at the moment and should have a replacement enroute.
