Re: Delica Recalls

Some vehicles were taken off the road, parked, and then sold at auction, so they would not have been subject to semi-annual inspection because they were not being driven, hence the odd vehicle with (e.g.) 17,000 true km.

Re: electrical problems

What Delicat said - last summer I had an issue with loose connections - van would run all day, then in the morning, nothing, not even a click. I would open the hatch, wiggle the battery connections, and voila! Power. I have since replaced the battery and connections and all has been grand.

Re: Delica Recalls

Right on, Mardy! No doubt your vehicles pass the test every time - at least that's the word on the forum!

I Posted more out of interest to the community here, and even though most of the vans out there are diesel, there are a few gasoline models driving around. :-D

Delica Recalls

This website http://dogandlemon.com/site/japanese-vehicle-recalls/?make=MITSUBISHI&model=DELICA provides a listing of recalls related to the Mitsubishi Delica. Most appear to be post-1993, and some will certainly be relevant to the L400's. There are several that cover the model and year(s) that most...

Re: Engine Tapping

Could also be related to your turbo with the bearing in the turbo hitting the impeller, which is heard when driving by walls etc.

Re: free 1000L totes

http://www.airfreetires.com/shopping/p-491-heavy-foam-tire-fill-information.aspx This link might shed some light on tire fill and what it is and whether or not the residue is something that can be simply hosed out or not. You should find out if the tire fill was elastomer based or not before the hot...

Re: Damn rust!

If you are not into Rhino-line, it is possible to fix the whole thing with regular body and paint work BUT the interior needs to be ripped out to ensure that the rust is treated from the inside as well. I have done this (I mean, I paid to have it done :-D ), if you want more info, pm me.

Re: Windshield-Crack

I haven't tackled this yet, but it looks like the bush bars need to come off, then the removal should be relatively straight forward - but then again, the easy things always seem to be harder then one hopes! I plan on trying this in the spring.

Re: Windshield-Crack

Almost forgot about the front panel clips behind the Mitsubishi face plate or whatever it is called - apparently the grommets and seals can shrink and water can penetrate through there, too. So - kidwrecked's idea is a good one and would probably reveal if that was the source of the water.

Re: help with squealing/grinding driveline?

snelson - I was having a similar problem while driving / accelerating. See http://www.delica.ca/forum/strange-sound-4192.html Recently learned that the turbo bearing is hitting the impeller under acceleration. This may be your problem as well. Some other good suggestions in the post as well. Good lu...

Re: A strange sqeaky sound?

I also have a very slight squeak on idle and have been told that it is the belts and may have something to do with the large variation in temperature and moisture we have had lately. Keep us posted on what you learn, Jonny5ive.

Re: Windshield-Crack

I hear you one the wet foot thing - did the front quarter panels and windshield and still wet. A 3rd possible place is the top weld on top of the A pillar where the gutter ends - some people have had some luck reducing water inflow by sealing that area -apparently a crack can form there and there is...

Hey kidwrecked - nice meeting you in Coombs the other day - how does your van look now? Some before and after pictures would be great.

Happy trails!

Re: Windshield-Crack

I had my windshield replaced in Sidney at Capital City Glass - they are one of the ICBC express glass shops and they had no problem sourcing a windshield for my van, so I suspect that any ICBC express shop could do it - but remember to say that your window was cracked by a projectile and not your ow...
