Re: Someone PLEASE satisfy my curiosity
Well, I just realized that I posted this thread in "Member Introductions" so I am officially calling myself a dork. I meant to put it in "General Discussion". Can you move a post from one forum to another after it is posted? Any rate, I have worked Google to the bone and have not...

Re: Someone PLEASE satisfy my curiosity
I did some searching around for a production list and came up empty, but you are right - there probably is one out there some where. I like the manual and when and if I go to sell it, I will be sure to advertise the once in a lifetime opportunity for someone to own this really rare, seldom seen manu...

Someone PLEASE satisfy my curiosity
I have noticed that many people refer to the 5 spd manuals as rare, very rare, extremely rare, very uncommon, etc. So - how rare is rare? Are 5 speeds really that uncommon (i.e., were fewer manuals made compared to autos), or are there just more autos being imported? Are there more autos in Japan re...

You can only get a used or refurbished turbo - new ones don't appear to be available.

Re: turbo needed!!
Glen at Coombs Country Auto can provide the parts needed for a turbo overhaul. I am not familiar with anyone in Edmonton that can help ASAP - maybe the Alberta contingent will chime in with some tips.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Tyee Imports...Campbell River
See previous post: http://www.delica.ca/forum/north-island-jdm-sellers-my-opinions-2217.html I wouldn't write them off entirely - but you need to educate yourself in advance (as you appear to be doing) so you know what to expect from the dealer in question. I am not sure of the validity of the "...

Re: Paint Code (lower 2-tone)
The van appears to be the same colour scheme as mine. I had it repainted at Ferny's in Victoria. They may have relevant information if you give them a call.

Williams Lake Mechanic
I recently needed a mechanic in Williams Lake. A guy named Ian works at Lake City Ford Auto Mall (or something like that). Mine was the first Delica he had worked on, but he knows diesels inside and out and was able to get me on my way again. His workmanship was later endorsed by Glen at Coombs Coun...

Coombs on Friday?
Hey there - anyone going to be coming to Victoria from Coombs (or nearby) on Friday later morning or early afternoon that could give me a ride to Victoria?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Brakes in Tofino?
you should be OK to get it to CCA - sounds like calipers. If it is only one side, several more days of driving probably won't be a big deal. I have heard that some of the LORDCO sourced calipers are crapping out, so maybe that is your issue.

Re: Delica a reliable vehicle?
We have both a matrix (2007) and a 1992 exceed. Since owning the Delica, I have put > 60,000 km on it (less than 2 years). Once all of the required service was done (see elsewhere on this site), the Delica has been very reliable, but like Laura says, they aren't without their quirks. That said, a we...

Re: HELP!!! No power and stalling
Without a turbo you can drive, but really, really slowly. I am not sure about the ability to connect/disconnect a turbo - perhaps someone else can chime in here. I have my doubts. It sounds like your turbo is on its way to detonation - that squeal sound you mention was the first indication to me tha...

Tire Pressure
OK - I am cross-eyed. I have read as many posts as I can, visited numerous websites, and basically read myself into a circle. When in the US recently I had a tire checked and the service guy inflated all of my tires to 35 psi. Fine. I recently purchased new tires and the shop inflated them to 32 psi...

Re: HELP!!! No power and stalling
By the sounds of it you will likely need to replace your turbo with a good used one or a brand new one. Rebuilding may be an option, but from the conversations I have had, it really isn't the best approach. Given your predicament (which sounds like a blown turbo), there may not be anything left to r...
