Re: Tool Box suggestions?

"The space where the jack is?" Where is that? I must have not found it yet. Mind you, my jack is not Mitsu, it's a scissor jack from something else. It just kicks around under the middle seat.

Re: Tailgate Sale

I'm away Easter Weekend, so I vote for the 10th instead.

I've got a few bits and parts, and would be really keen on trading for some shoulder-bolts, for attaching trim. Somebody's gotta have a fistful of those!

LEGO Technic Expedition Van

Meh, I wonder where they got the idea?

And I bet I know which British rock band that music is supposed to sound like.

Re: Fuse Box Labels (download and print)

Darn, in an effort to tidy up, I deleted my legacy! I made a couple of changes to the file, and uploaded a new version, which has been downloaded 90 times. The old file (with the green) had been downloaded 430 times -- at 16 per sheet, that's a lot of fuse box labels!

Re: stereo install

I installed the Sylfex AuxMod adapter in the Mazda stereo, and it works flawlessly. I now have an iPod input.

Sylfex was great to deal with, prompt shipping, no issues.

Re: Inexpensive Glow Plug Solenoid Replacement

Yeah, the main issue is being able to slip the crimp connectors onto the bolts, and tighten them with a metric spanner. I figure the 1/2" nut holding the bolt in place isn't likely to go anywhere.

Re: Battery Size

Yes, For What It's Worth, with a spoonerism for good measure.

I'm considering Canadian Energy, who will sell me a Korean-made P27RW battery for $121.54, exchange.

Canadian Tire sells a USA-made MOT27 for $130.

Not sure which of these is the lesser of two evils.

Re: Battery Size

Does anyone know the specs on the Dynagrid 105D31R battery from Japan? It's probably the one that was in my van when it was imported, and a mechanic told me it's "undersized for that vehicle." But I want specs so I know I'm replacing it with something that's an improvement. WFIW, the Dynagrid is wor...

Inexpensive Glow Plug Solenoid Replacement

Okay, I bought this Chinese solenoid for $10, and it seems pretty solid. The only bad part is the bolts are imperial, and I just hate having two sets of spanners to work on a used car. I don't want to change the lugs on my wires to accommodate the larger bolts. I realized that if I file the threads ...

Re: 12V Glow plugs - do these exist??

I'm having problems with cold starting lately. Last autumn, I rebuilt the ECU and the solenoid (see http://www.delica.ca/forum/rebuilding-the-ecu-anybody-out-there-4139.html to find out what kind of mechanic I am), so suspected these failed again, but they are fine. But there is only 0.29v at the gl...

For future reference, you can download and print English labels for your fuse box:

Re: HELP! On a trip away from home and my Deli is not starti

Ha ha, reminds me of the #1 rule about used cars: "bad mechanics hide their mistakes with electrical tape." It's amazing the nonsense you find when you peel it off. Glad you got that sorted out, and got some peace of mind actually knowing what the root cause was. Now every time it starts you'll get ...

The continuing stoooory.... Determined to locate the rattle under the dash, I equipped myself with a digital recorder, the kind you use as a dictation machine. I poked it around while I was driving over 40k (whoops, stay in the lane!) and narrated where each sample was taken. The noise is the loudes...
