Re: March 28th 2010 Tomahawk Breakfast?

We can try to get there a bit earlier if that works. I could push for 8:30 or 9:00 am.

Re: March 28th 2010 Tomahawk Breakfast?

Hello Falco,

I am flexible around the time, but that would be the only date possible on this trip. When I return through it will be a no stopper back to Houston.

March 28th 2010 Tomahawk Breakfast?

I have to make a trip down to that neck of the woods. Would anybody like to join me for breakfast at 10:00 am. I will probably be driving in from the Ashcroft area so need the time to get there.

Re: Cutting and Grinding for a Lift... I Have Questions!

With 31" tires, there should be minimal cutting or bashing of panels. I am running 32.7" tires with a two inch lift and have minor rubs that I will take care of before camping season starts.

Re: 4G64 gas powered Delica

Getting parts is easier for the gas powered Delica than it had been for my diesel. The alternator was on the shelf, plugs, wires, filters, everything is on the shelf. The crossover for part numbers is to the Mitsubishi Vanwagon of the same vintage. All these parts were at NAPA here in Houston (BC th...

Re: Motor Swap for Petrol Delica

My petrol 1990 L300 has the 4G64 in it which is rated at around 115 hp. It moves the stock van very well in my part of the world (lots of hills and lots of highway). I have not tried towing yet, but suspect some loss of speed on the hills. With the big rubber I have on it now there is some loss of m...

Re: engine swap?

I would get a 2.4 turbo from a 2001-2004 Chrysler Sebring. This is the 4G64 Mitsubishi engine found in the Petrol Delicas, with the bonus of having the turbo and can be tweaked for 200+ ponies. If he has a spare turbo set up I would be interested. I may be in Edmonton around Christmas with a bit of ...

Re: Tall and narrow tires

Flex, I would look at these tyres by Maxxis: http://www.maxxis.com/AutomobileLight-Truck/Light-Truck-SUV/MT-754-Buckshot-Mudder.aspx Maxxis is not as easily available in Canada, but are available throughout the rest of the world. They are available in the 30x9.5x15. I have read a lot of good reviews...

Re: chains versus cables

The only real use for chains is the bags of sand they replace. Sure at slow speed in deep snow or on sheets of ice they will give you traction, but who would actually want to use them on the highway. Before spending money on chains, see how long they take to put on in good conditions, then try again...

Re: Doc Finds a Friend in PG

I was supposed to be passing through on my way to Edmonton, but after white-knuckling on the skating rink from Vanderhoof to PG I decided it would be best to wait a few hours on PG and go home again. There were sections where the wind was blowing the back of the van sideways on the ice roads. Those ...

It's true that few other deli drivers in the north wave. Although there was a white high roof with racks and ladder at the Costa Lessa Motel in Terrace this weekend. The owners were just getting in as we drove by waving and wishing my horn worked. Anyone here?

Re: Hiace haters

I drove (owned) a gas 2wd Hiace for a few weeks while waiting for my Delica. They are a nice van, more comfortable interior, the huge 4 person sunroof was awesome and the Joyful Talk feature was awesome (microphones and speakers at each seat). To use it like a Delica is a bit of a stretch as the des...

Re: Side trim strip.

Hey Andy,

Josh put his strip back on, mine never had it from the factory:

I personally like it without, less dirt and water trapped in behind it to start corroding.
