I've got the dreaded oil leak coming from the bell housing of the transmission. No its not the valve cover gasket leaking.... I've read another topic where Growler chimed in and mentioned the new rear seal might not do anything as there may be a groove worn into the crank.
Anybody ever replace...
Huh. I thought I'd replied to this one.
It's been a while, but I don't recall anything particularly difficult. Follow the workshop manual, don't forget the earthing strap, and the transmission is *way* heavier than you expect- consider using a transmission jack to support the transmission, to...
Was hoping to head East with the Delica but the brakes are starting to squeak. Ive been searching the forum but couldn't find a step by step for front and rear brakes. If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction would be so awesome. (and suggestions for best place to buy parts in...
When doing back brakes do 1 side at a time that way you have Chinese blueprint. Have a look before you start to see if your wheel cylinder is leaking. Front brakes are very simple just make sure if you always add brake fluid when you push the Pistons back in the fluid will overflow.
So I'm trying to get a kit together for day trips and a kit for multiple day trip any suggestions? My vehicle did not come with the standard kit unfortunately. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated thanks in advance! Also looking for other pieces of kit that are good to have as well.

It should be housed in the left rear pillar, just below the tail lamp, accessible from inside if you remove the trim panel. There should be an orange hydraulic jack, and a black vinyl bag with tools.
Greetings folks. Just picked up an 88 L300. 175,000 km on the dash.
On the drive home, at highway speeds on flat ground, the temp gauge barely made it past 1/3. Was at the bottom margin of the temp logo most of the time. During some hill climbs, she would climb to 1/2-3/4. Was wondering if this...
The entire cooling system consists of the rad and rad hoses, fan and fan clutch, thermostat and waterpump, more or less.. Your waterpump should get done with the timing belt every 100 thousand or so. Rad hoses should be firm, fan should have resistance when spun and the coolant should have good...
I am touring around with my canoe at the moment. One issue I am having is that the rear hatch can not open very far. I removed the rear spoiler and that helped. I have a Thule rack and it fits my van nicely. I dont want higher risers. Its tall enough already. I was wondering if someone in the...
I will try turning the canoe and drill holes in the bottom so the water can drain.
Are you from Tasmania? I used to work there for a bit, near the town of Smithton.
Well, I've come cross a rolled Delica L300, pretty sure it a 93. Automatic with only 95000km on it. Who's looking for parts and what specifically? I will likely be parting out next week and keeping a couple of the smaller items for myself.. Let me know if you need something! Cheers - Trinker
Does it have sliding windows? intact of course... I would take them with the window frame and rubber..
*Post up what you did to/in/with your Delica today from mods to oil change to driving to teh beach to hauling wood. Stealing this thread idea from Minitrucktalk.com as it is an entertaining thread that just keeps going and going and going...
Today (and by today I mean last week) I had a custom...
My freshly-painted white roof has made the black paint around the windows look faded and awful, so today I started repainting it. Here it is in epoxy primer:
I'm planning on removing my rear AC/heater, i never use it, and it doesnt really work as is. But i definitely want to keep the front. I've never messed with anything AC related before so just looking for a quick rundown on what I need to do for venting/blocking off hoses etc..
I know I need to...
So you did. Nice!
(I just searched for "espar D5" in the search box.)
I'm in the process of purchasing a BC registered vehicle. For any Oregonians out there with delicas, where have you gotten your insurance? What are the rates like?
Most importantly, where's your favorite place in Oregon to take it?!

I went through Hagerty. I am paying $446 USD per year with a $1,000 deductible. State Farm didn't know how to insure it, but they want another stab at a quote. However, without a 17 digit VIN, they don't seem to know what to do. I'll be darned if they want to insure it as an '89 Mitsubishi Van, and...
