I’m in the process of buying an L400 and it has the starting problem too where it will die if it’s not warmed up enough. I’m wondering if the front seal is an easy job and how much it costs to do it yourself or get a shop to do it? I have done the head gasket on my L300 so I have some mechanical...
we (me, my wife and two kids) headed down to the North Cascades in our L400 from Vancouver at the end of August for a week of camping and exploring. we had an interesting experience at the border crossing when we set off the radiation portal monitor and were sent in for secondary screening. turns...
Bringing up this backup because my 1994, L400, LWB, was flagged last weekend for radiation.
If was a 3 hour wait at the boarder getting into the us. We don't know our mr/hr dosage yet, however I'm in contact with oceanchem in Victoria. He's going to help me look into it.
As the title suggests, I need to flush my heater core. Can anyone tell me if I need to take the intercooler off to get a good look at the inlet and outlet hoses? I'm assuming that's where they are, I cant really see properly. My searches haven't bought up anything concrete on the actual location....
4 bolts, and a quick connect electrical plug to let go. Then swing your intercooler up out of the way. Heater hoses go into the firewall near the top, behind intercooler.
I was out driving some back roads today and started experiencing some strange issues when I shifted into 4H. Namely, when driving uphill it felt like things were slipping and I wasn't getting power. Then, when I put the van into park on a very slight grade it continued to roll. I finished the trip...
I had an elgrand that did the same thing after driving in 4x4. It stopped rolling eventually but I always used the parking brake on a hill. Other forums say it’s the park pin that’s broken. The only solution on the other forums was to repair the transmission.
I've just bought a 1998 L400 high-roof Super Exceed. I grew impatient waiting for an LWB and finally went for a short wheel base that my wife and I plan to camperize as time, ability and money permits. I eventually plan to install a small fridge (Engel, Arb, Dometic, etc...) once I get a second...
Igloo Super Tough STX is what we used since 2015. It keeps ice well.
Hey Guys, im mostly starting this to keep track of the mods i do and how i do them. I'm VERY new to the Delica world, and even newer to working on my own vehicle. Hell, I never even took highschool Mechanics classes, i was too busy in the wood shop and welding shops!
My names Peter, im 26 and was...
The upgrades have been slowly rolling along.
I got the speakers and head done in september. Had no issues with anything while doing it. The back speakers were tight on the body, I padded the back with some foam to protect everything.
The following weekend I installed my EGR gauge and...
Hey everyone, it's been a while since I was on here asking for help. I have a '91 L300 needing a new muffler. Does anyone know where I can get one in Edmonton or where I can order one for a good price? Thanks in advance for any help I can get. Chris
Go to a good muffler shop. Don’t go to someone that says cu$tom,cu$tom,cu$tom. Should be around 400$ for everything maybe 200 if there just replacing the muffler.
I need a little help from all the experts here on the forum to determine if I am imagining things or if there is a potential problem with my Delica. I have a 94 L400 Auto and have been noticing for months now that when I am driving and I go to accelerate, the vehicle revs higher and speeds up but...
I know this is way down thread but this information saved me as well.
This thread is a great find! I've made a copy to the L400 Technical Reference Library (minus the off-topic posts), hopefully others with the same issues won't have to search quite as hard as you did. Thanks!
I have a 1995 Mitsubishi L300 4x4, it's a 2.5 TD with a 5-speed manual. I love the thing to bits, i took a gap year after high school last year and drove 12,000km all over Europe with it. I'm back in Canada now but the van stayed in Poland. I want to import it here but have no clue as to the price,...
My window vents/louvers for my L300 arrived today and they fit great! I have two of them and plan on putting them one on each side of the van - this should allow me some great cross breezes while camping. The vents came with a mosquito net back - Great for Yukon summers!
My work on the van...
Here ya go:
I looked at buying these, but they're pretty expensive when you factor in shipping. At least to Canada anyway. I love the fact that they're 100% functional, and look like a factory option. I'm getting a set once I win the lottery.
In the USA there is no requirement to switch the headlights for LHD, so most imposters don't do it. While it's not required, the RHD pattern is abysmal when adjusted so as to not blind oncoming traffic.
Then I found these on Ebay for $329 a pair (includes corner housings as well). They're for...
I updated the post; found an issue with the led control module where it's very easy for water to get in, collect, and cause a short. Luckily it didn't fry itself. Easy fix, bit of silicon (dielectric) grease and shrink tubing and it's all good again.
i guess it's been awhile that we've been on the forum but have never really done an introduction. as we still see delicas here and there on our travels, thought we'd say hello online and put a face with a name.
we're candice and jordan and nugget (the furriest of the 3) -- currently driving the...
Lovely pictures - and a fantastic Slogan - from a grandpa of three who's last trips on the Dempster in 2016 & 2017 were by motorcycle. I 2 will be old later.
But a rig like that has me wanting to go Vanping again!!!
