Is it possible to prevent a head being cracked?
I think a good way to keep your head from cracking is always monitor your coolant temperature. If a hose starts leaking or your going up at hill doing 1200 degrees it will probably start to rise. I replace my radiator and that seemed to drop my coolant temperature average. Also if it starts to rise ...

When you turn the key you should hear a click sound behind you. Before you crank it over there should be another click sound 5 seconds later. The second click signals the glow plugs are hot and the engine is ready to start. There should be some YouTube videos of someone starting a l300 that they’re ...

Check the time between the 2 clicks when you start the van. If you don’t get a second click then this will be your problem. I live in Vancouver and can help you if you need. I’ve owned my van 13 years and have always done my own maintenance.

I think you need glow plugs. Get some from rising sun, japanoid... they aren’t cheap but will probably fix your problem. How long does it take from the first click to the second click when starting your van?

I guess the white smoke would be unburnt fuel. I would definitely change glow plugs. They are expensive but worth it!

1993 L300 Pre-Purchase Inspection HELP
Where do you live? I would definitely be worried about the kms. Seems way too low. Hopefully the condition of the van matches the km. A good thing to look at is where the bolts are for the gauge pod. See if there’s any pry marks. The only thing I would worry about is the engine and fuel pump. Everyt...

What to look for - buying a 1997 L400 Space Gear?
I heard the frames rust out. I would definitely look at the frame underneath and the roof. I would also get there early to see if it starts ok in the cold. ( make sure he doesn’t pre warm it before you get there)

L300 Leaking fuel injection pump head
Have you been using a fuel additive? I have had my Delica for over 12 years and never had an issue with the injection pump( knock on wood).
I have been using stanadyne lubricity.
I have done the timing belt 4 times. I guess it sucks because it takes around 4 hours to do everything.
