Re: EDIT: Ladders and Racks

Totally agree. I've got one of his ladders on my L300 High Roof. I've put heavy use on this - the powder coating looks as new. I've been playing with welder again just making Halloween decorations for the house......and the process has reminded me yet again about the high quality of crafstmanship th...

CADA Seeking federal ban on RHD imports in Canada!

Getting to the core of the matter is that the existing 15 year rule is in place to protect the domestic auto industry - full stop. The USA is more pro domestic industry compared to Canada - thus a 25 year restriction. Quebec is more pro anything Quebec so will reject anything outside Quebec - thus t...

Overheating question

I took out some coolant from the expansion tank leaving the level half way between "low" and "high". I did a couple of days driving including some long hills, temps running from low (normal) to half way up the gauge, but no noticeable change in the expansion tank level when hot o...

Oil filters for L300

Yes..the Fram doesn't work. I made the same mistake. Thought I had the filter all tightened up but in fact it had just gotten to the point where the threads had locked, and oil spewed everywhere at startup. That was a bad part number from the very beginning of the original parts Wiki. Agree that BD2...

ICBC writing off damaged RHD's to get them off the road

Must be case by case. I was dreading my ICBC visit after I got hit dead center in my sliding door on Jan 1 this year. Damaged the door, the body behind the door and to the rear of the door, but ahead of the rear wheel. Reasonably extensive and estimate came in at $2500 but with an allowance of up to...

Re: Overheating question

OK, here's what I suggest: 1. Ask the guys that did the work what Thermostat they put in? What Temp does it open? You might have the wrong one in. 2. Pressure test the system to check for leakage, 3. Check Coolant mix (Important) Make sure you have the recommended Diesel Heavy Duty Coolant, 4. Chec...

Thinking about getting a Delica in Taiwan

Sad to report that Doc Savage (James) informed us during his visit to North Van that Josh has sold his rig. Not sure if the new owner haunts this site or not.

Re: Cariboo Camperization

Oh man...you are true inspiration. I've got my dearly departed grandads leather lazyboy upstairs...raretly get's used. When the kids (or at least one) is somewhat not here any more (I've been told they never really leave...I'm ok with that!) - I'll be doing this mod!!!!! Now that's the definition of...
