Nootkase heads for Mexico, Again

Any other Delis on our route? Ajo, San Carlos, Celestino Gasca, San Blas, La Manzanilla. This is our 4th, no, 5th, trip! Hard to keep track. Last time we visited the wild beaches near Playa Maito, Jalisco. Wild country, beautiful, rough, beaches. We should be somewhere down there until early March. ...

Re: Canada-USA-Mexico-Belize-Gta trip

Mexpro seems OK. I just bought the basic ACE plan. My 1991 Exceed cannot be covered for theft or total loss because of its age.

We're in California, heading to La Manzanilla next week. This is our 4th trip!

Best of luck! (Buena suerte) Bon Chance. Guatever!

Re: Traveling to Mexico?

Hola, John,

We're planing our 3rd Deli trip to La Manzanilla for January. We have favourite campspots, but like to explore too.

I'd love to see your video!

Re: Another wierd wiring issue

Hey, Meanman,

Whatsa "multiswitch"??

The thing on the steering column works fine. Had it all apart and clean.

Fog lights have always had a mind of their own. DRL's and Hi/lo's are fine. I would like to find a fuse for tail/panel lights, but so far, nada.

Re: Do yourself a "electrical" favour!

My driving lights and headlights work fine. Just the tail lights and instrument panel lights are out. And the engine shut off. There are lots of black boxes under there. Which is the module in question? Does it have MB # on it? My switch looks good and seems to be ok. If I could find the headlight w...

Another wierd wiring issue

1991 Exceed/auto My tail lights quit. So did the dash lights and side lights. I found out when I switched the engine off with the headlights still on. No buzzer, but then the motor didn't quit either. Even with the key out. Turn off the lights, and she quits. I've had the switch apart, cleaned up, a...

Re: May Long camping!!

Ever been out to Cougar Creek (BCFS campsite)? It's in Nootka sound, down past Nesook, off the Tahsis road. Shouldn't be too many fishermen yet.

Re: Nootkase heads for Mexico again

I wouldn't sit under a coco tree like the pretty lady in the picture. They drop nuts. Big, heavy ones. and from a considerable height and all you hear is a whisper as they slide free of the fronds, then BAM! Risk management is somewhat personal, but the main thing is to get things in perspective. Cr...

We took the pay highways where possible. Fast, smooth, uncrowded, but they take their toll.

Stats:
12,000 km
986.77 Loonies for dino juice
Av. 11 L/100k
Mex. price $.66/L
US price $.80/ L

Re: Nootkase heads for Mexico again

Mexico 2009 This time Jacquie and I started from LA County, since we had been visiting my mother there. I had heard of a strange place called “Slab City” out by the Salton Sea. It’s an abandoned military base permanently occupied by RV’s. Many Canadians winter here. It’s free and there are no rules,...

Re: Nootkase heads for Mexico again

Ay ay ayy!

I had it all written up with pix, and it seems lost in cyberspace!

I'll try again, poco a poco, so I might not totally lose it.

Re: Nootkase heads for Mexico again

OK, OK, So here I am back again without having posted anything. Not sure why. Seems like once you get used to one sunny day following another, there is no great incentive to accomplish anything right away. Needing to do something immediately for no particular reason simply seems compulsive-obsessive...

Nootkase heads for Mexico again

We left BC in December, but went to Hawaii. Not in the Deli! Now in S. Cal. Hope to cross the border in a few day and head down the west side of the mainland. Not ready to return home yet.

Any other delis down there?

Bob
