Folding camper bed frame

Selling a custom made aluminum platform & plywood top bed frame. The frame is well made and extremely light. This will fit into either an L400 Regular or LWB van from the mid-90's to the early 2000's era. The platform is the full inner width of the van (~54") and is roughly 80" in leng...

Large Delica (Jasper) Awning [SOLD]

Original Delica "Jasper" awning. It's quite large but due to its design it folds up into a much smaller (~4') long aluminum case. Spring-loaded case mechanism allows for easy retraction. Easy mounting bracket design should fit most square roof-rack bars. Comes with 4 long adjustable poles,...

Welding Recommendation in Vancouver

Hi all, Finally doing a proper camperization and moving one of the middle captains chair to the passenger position. After much research and tinkering, I have figured out a relatively simple mod that should work with my van setup. I do however require the assistance of someone who can fabricate and w...

Re: Upholstery Recommendations

Thanks for that! I've actually been in that shop and chatted with the fellow (very talkative) about another project but didn't get the impression that they did much custom upholstery and were only focused on foam. I'll email him over the drawings and see how it goes

Upholstery Recommendations

I'm working on some camperization modifications and looking for recommendations for a good upholsterer to work on a folding bench / bed that I have designed. I already have the fabric and I also plan to build the frame / internal structure. I need someone who can support with foam sourcing and do th...

Mazda Bongo Friendee

I had to part ways with my '96 L400 earlier this year due to severe rust and am now trying to figure out what vehicle to get next. I was planning on a similar L400 but noticed a neighbor working on a Mazda Bongo Friendee he recently imported and got curious. It seems like a decent camper solution wi...

Recommendation for brake work

Wayne, that is a genius contraption for the brake line! My solution was far less...elegant... or effective for that matter :/ New caliper, pads & rotor installed. Brake line bled and voila! No More Grinding :) Brakes feel a bit soft but I probably have to do another round of bleeding as this was...

Best source for brake parts?

I just replaced the Front Pads on my 1995 L400 PE8W (diesel) with Raybestos EHT 530H from Lordco. They were not cheap $100+. It seems like an item they have in stock. At least at their location on E 2nd in Mt. Pleasant. Napa also has them... or at least an equivalent.

Recommendation for brake work

I ended up sourcing a rebuilt caliper, new rotor and lightly used pads from Rising Sun for a pretty decent price. Picking it all up tomorrow & will let you know how the rebuild goes. I'll check with Stephen to see where he gets the calipers from to help with sourcing in the future. I've never ac...

Recommendation for brake work

UPDATE #2... for those of you still following along... After finally prying open the caliper on the rear passenger wheel i discovered the source of the grinding. I seems like the piston was either fully or partially seized. The brake pads had worn off all their braking surface and now the metal back...

Recommendation for brake work

**Update** It appears as though the rear passenger side caliper (or piston) is seized . I removed the bottom pin but was not able to lift the caliper at all. My guess is that the piston is engaged (or rusted) and holding the caliper on tight. I tried a few taps with the rubber mallet but nothing. I ...

Recommendation for brake work

Thanks for the feedback and apologies for taking so long to reply! Since posting I have watched many youtube videos and read many forum posts both here and other deli sites. Now that I am an expert ;) I took a stab at the front brakes myself because they seemed easiest to tackle. Front what I can te...

Recommendation for brake work

I have a 1995 L400 PE8W 4M40. It's recently started making some grinding noises, which appear to be coming from the brakes. Any recommendations of a shop or mechanic in or near East Van that could diagnose the issue & provide a repair estimate? The van has a few 'challenges' already and I'm tryi...
