Re: L400 Hitches available

You dont have to do any kind of modification, It will bolt up to all the exisiting holes in the frame adn body. Installation will take about 30 min. Mine bolted up ok to the 94 SWB L400 PE8W, there were two bolts however that did not go in. The two ones that go up vertically into the frame (and gue...

Re: Performance Modifications

EDIT: Jfarsang where did your post go? (He asked on Glo-Shift gauge quality). Good question, I researched this particular gauge thoroughly including reading through about 20+ pages of data on a Dodge truck forum and gathered a few pieces of info. 1) The technical support appears very good, Glo-shift...

Re: Performance Modifications

^^Just getting into the tuning season now, not alot of info to share yet, but I did start down the path and complete the install of monitoring systems, Pyro, boost, and trans temp. I took a chance on the Glo-Shift all in one gauge. So far so good, I might actually recommend it if it holds up. For th...

Found this too:

I am planning on towing a Starcraft 18ft trailer, 3500 lbs. Guessing it will not be an issue with a proper Class 3 hitch.

Re: towing / tow hitch

This link has good info on towing if anyone else on here is searching:

http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2198

Jyst of it is that the L400 2.8 can tow up to 3500kg in the UK. Most MODUK members tow around 2000kg without issue. L300 is less.

Re: PWR HOLD usage

Don't use HOLD on hilly areas. You'll burn out the transmission. I understand your concern, and genuinely appreciate your feedback, but just want to share. Many offshore Delicas actually hardwire a switch in that forces the Torque Converter to lock, which is essentially what is happened anytime ove...

CVI and JDMConnection --> Thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks to both Will at JDMConnection and Butch at CVI for their help in importing my L400. Will found me the perfect Delica after not much longer then a week of searching, a 1994 Silver L400, 2.8TD, Crystal Lite Roof, with Low (56) Km. All that and came into budget just as he prom...

Re: Performance Modifications

Any recommendations for Betty? She's the V6 Gasser. Parts are very easy to come by. Mitsubishi impregnated many North American Beasts with this motor. Any ideas? aclarker No problem, I believe thats the 6G72 engine? For that motor, coupled with an auto, you would do modifications that would improve...

Re: how can i make more boost in the turbo?

if you go past 15 psig boost pressure you will see greater egt due to the fact that there isn't enough fuel being added thus running into a lean condition in your cylinder (s) by adding more fuel you keep the charge a bit cooler :-D For diesels, more boost will actually result in cooler EGT's (with...

Re: Fuel economy for a healthy L400?

I measured 10.5l/100km over a few tanks on the 90km/hr twisty roads in BC. About 12-13/100km when at 110km/hr. City mileage was similar at 12-13l/100km.

This is running 30x9.5's on a 94 L400 4m40 Auto.

Re: Performance Modifications

Over the past couple months or so I have gathered a wealth of information on tuning the 4M40, many of the basic principles apply to the 4D56 as well. While tuning a Bosch VE style Injection Pump is old hat, coming up with a system of changes that works best for our engine in particular is key. There...
