Re: Adjustable front shocks on L300: Rancho RS9000XL series.
Hey Falco - I'm downtown Vancouver. I've seen Miss Bitchin' on the shore before but not for a few years now. Don't have a space to do suspension myself but have two questions for you: 1) Would you also recommend the Bilsteins for a stock L400 (regular wheelbase, no lift/stock spring mods) two year a...

Cam shaft thrust O rings leak?
Heads up that apparently it is a "cone" (cone shape?) at the back of the valve cover gasket that is responsible for the most common and largest oil leak. Other culpruit to look out for is the exhaust gasket (at head-exhaust intake connection near top of head on left of engine) when you ope...

Cam shaft thrust O rings leak?
Related. First time L400 diesel owner. Owned an L300 before. 24 months into import from Japan on my L400 (Gen 2 1997 diesel) Lost quite a bit of oil in my last 5000km oil change run. Maybe a litre...more? The main thing that wasn't done on import was the valve cover gasket since there was no visual ...

Rotate your Tires or Not...thoughts?
Thanks Falco. You're in North Van, do you drive the Sea to Sky a lot and see the same wear issue focused on outside tread? Unavoidable no matter what PSI you're at. Sea to sky definitely one of the curviest highways out there.... I think I've been running mine around 35 PSI so will try upping them. ...

Experience with rotating vs. not rotating tires and just replacing 2 tires at a time when front ones wear out? I always rotated my L300 tires to spread out the wear but David at Rising sun (mechanic) was recommending to just leave the fronts until they are worn and then just replace the front tires ...

Appraiser for ICBC Accelerated Depreciation Claims
Can anyone reccomend an appraiser that is experienced with Delica Accelerated Depreciation ("AD") Claims for ICBC? (This is 3rd not-at-fault Delica accident in 18 months so I don't need ICBC advice on anything else, please keep thread specific to AD. #vancouverdriversaretheworst. I know ex...

Jist of it is: I know this isn't the place to sell parts but I want to offer these to a Delica.ca user first as I've gotten so much help from here over the years (sorry Falco...breaking forum rules but trying to give back...I can come and delete post lat...

Where should I get my brakes & oil change done?
Going to change oil for first time myself on my 96 L400 Diesel (had a 91 L300 Diesel before).
Couldn't confirm anywhere the engine oil capacity. Is is 6.5L like the L300 Diesel?

Bull bar decal, worth buying?
Good tips! I also just emailed t0me to get some new stickers (July 2018). They come from Australia mate (delicaclub.com) Note that t0me also has some great L400 Series 1 fuse box stickers I also asked for for only AUD 6.50. Asked for these too of course. http://www.t0me.com/t0me/index.html I'll upda...

Cigarette smell in new import - tips on air circ system?
Thanks - yah, I've been trying that and seems to be getting better. Got two "sugar bowls" with vinegar that clamp down closed with tight seal and leave them in there open at night and then just throw them into the drawer under the passenger seat for the day. Seems to be working as final so...

L400 Frame Rust Removal / Converting / Preventing
Finally, finally got around to the 20 year Fluid Film undercoat project yesterday. Reason my Van was so rust free is that prior owner had foresite to paint the usually high-rust areas (rear axle, drive shaft) years ago so lucky for me Fluid Film was applied overtop this. This is why my Van is so rus...

L400 Frame Rust Removal / Converting / Preventing
I'm all set to do the Fluid Film undercoat on May 4/5 weekend with the Fluid Film gun & kit from the U.S. Turns out there is some sort of pain already on some of the axles and frame parts, but whatever, I'll just give it the old college try and coat the bottom of my van with tons of fluid film. ...

One mistake was trying to use exoxy for those final bench seat corners covers. Was rushing and they have already come apart. Will have to re-do with some construction-grade sealant from a sealant gun.
