How much torque can Ericsson 30-43le withstand 400nm? 300nm?

I don't know the 30-43LE transmission, I only know Delica transmissions, sorry.

Hello

Welcome! The JB500 is a lovely little camper van, you're going to have lots of adventures! That's an L300 beneath the camper body. Mitsubishi didn't stop making L300s when they introduced the L400 in 1994. 4WD L300s were made until 2000. 2WD L300s were made until 2016! Some handy threads to get you ...

How much torque can Ericsson 30-43le withstand 400nm? 300nm?

Autocorrect? L300s (the boxy shaped Delicas, from 1988 to 1996) use an Aisin 03-72L. If you've got an LE it's from something else. The 03-72L was also known as the Toyota A44DL. It was only fitted to vehicles with torque output up to 200Nm (Montero 4D56 Turbo, Volvo 940 GLE 16-valve). The 03-71 (Toy...

oil leak from oil pump gasket?

Talcum powder, but comes in a spray can (possibly also medicated but whatever). Much easier to apply to an engine than trying to dust regular talc. Absorbs oil and reveals the source of leaks. Sometimes oil leaks from higher up and collects on lower things, making it look like the lower things are l...

oil leak from oil pump gasket?

It's possible for it to leak from the gasket between the oil pump and the block, but it's uncommon. Usually it's the crank/balance shaft seals, or the oil cooler/filter fittings that weep. The oil pump has a gasket between it and the block, but grey silicone between itself and the sump. To remove th...

Bought a Parts Van - Suspect Blown Head Gasket or Cracked Head

Approximate position of the timing mark: MD110165.jpg ...though that warped head is going to be a problem. To get it running I'd want to fit a new head. Before committing to a new head, check the pistons for signs of valve contact, just in case the pulley slippage is a consequence of engine lockup.

Bought a Parts Van - Suspect Blown Head Gasket or Cracked Head

Yeah that's not right. The crank pulley looks wrong too. The timing mark should be almost 90 degrees counter-clockwise from the woodruff key. (When the crank is at TDC the key is on the right, but the timing marks on the belt cover aren't quite above the crankshaft.) MDS-4D56.jpg Did you turn the en...

ATF Levels Not the usual problem

You can absolutely damage the transmission with too much or too little fluid. If fluid level goes above the top "hot" mark it will foam up inside the transmission, and foam doesn't lubricate. I would drain the fluid until it's at the correct level, and try again. (You're checking the fluid...

dash Temp gauge not functioning

Probably not. If it goes past H and hits its travel and then stays there for a minute there's a chance the little coil could burn out, but just for a second? shouldn't be a problem.

Hyundai D4BF engine install

I haven't had to replace any of that stuff yet, but in theory it's mostly the same as a 4D56. The parts catalog is this one: https://hyundai.epc-data.com/h100/27999/engine/ I would take the Hyundai part number, throw it into Google, and see if it cross-references with the equivalent Mitsubishi part.

On board compressor for air shocks.

Whoops! They're 7/16" diameter, 20 Threads Per Inch (tpi). (Not 7/8" diameter, which would be huge! Editing the post now...) A 7/16-20 tap is easy to find, it's a pretty standard imperial size for bolts and nuts, it's just an unusual thread size for air lines. It looks like you can just bu...

Lower ball joint removal tool

I have a clamp style separator which works well. Put it in place, wind the bolt, and the tapers pop out with very little effort. Something like this one:

New owner - what to do first?

I'm not sure how much it should cost, but it's the same V6 fitted to a bunch of Mitsubishis and Chryslers, so mechanics should be familiar with it. You might have to do some fast talking to get them to look past the wacky JDM body. The 4M40 diesel has a timing chain which doesn't require replacement...

New owner - what to do first?

I'd closely inspect all rubber parts, especially the timing belt and coolant hoses, looking for hardness and cracking. Once the van's being driven regularly, I'd keep inspecting the hoses, watching for swelling or leaks. I'd replace the timing belt. Rubber hardens as it ages, and at 20 years old the...
