Hand throttle - open or closed when off

Just did a brief search on the forum but couldn’t find anything and wondering if anyone could tell me if it’s better to have the manual throttle cable open or closed when you turn off the van for the night in these moist humid winters. Does it make any difference?

ICBC Approved Auto Body Shops

I took mine to Vickory Collision in North Van a few years ago and they seemed fine with working on it. I think they sent to it another location but the small damage required some extensive work. The stuff they worked on came back looking better than the rest of the van.

What did you do TO your Delica today?

Updating few things I've done over the past few weeks/months. Some lovely folks in the DTES smashed my rear slider window for a few bags of donation clothes while i was grabbing dinner, so I ordered a new one from Coombs and installed it in about 30 mins including vacuuming the broken glass. I tried...

ICBC claim in Vancouver - where do you go?

I brought mine to Vickery Collision in North Vancouver. Smashed front right corner, lights, bumper, door frame/pillar. They let me know that due to the extent of the damage, I had to bring it in to the main ICBC estimating place at Cambie and 4th or so, right beside the Police station. ICBC took a l...

Tailgate delica lamp?

I'm in the middle of disassembling the entire unit to just place some LED strips behind the lettering. Seemed easier than mickey mousing a new lamp assembly on the fiber optics.

ICBC insurance coverage

Someone hit my front right corner a few weeks back, broke the headlight and side indicator. Also severely dented the front corner panel, bumper, and driver's door all of which need to be replaced. The part of the A-Pillar where the drivers door hinge attaches to the body was also pushed in, so the A...

Towing a delica

Has anyone towed an L300 using Uhaul vehicle towing trailers? Just looking to see if I can do it cheaper than a commercial tow-truck.

Free Maintenance Manual

Hey all, I wont be buying another Delica for the foreseeable future so up for grabs is a printed manual from the ex-owner of my late van. It seems to be complete (L300) and is fairly hefty at nearly a full ream of paper. I'm in east-van at nanaimo & 5th if anyone wants to come get it in the next...

Re: Rolled my van on Friday :(

I'm not exactly sure what the point of them writing it off is. I spoke with the gentleman in charge of the icbc salvage yard and he said it will most likely just be sold to a garage as a parts truck. I'm not sure if they intended on a profit for themselves after selling the parts van, but the offer ...

Re: Rolled my van on Friday :(

Okay so, I got a call today from the total loss department regarding the Van. Taking into account the brand new(ish) tires and whatnot, they're offering me $8,400 (after the $300 deductible). Seeing as I bought the Van for $6000 and put the tires on for around $1000 about a year ago, it seems like a...

I'm fairly certain the lug nuts loosened somehow, perhaps just from road vibrations and failed catastrophically before I noticed anything. That coupled with the sharp turn to get to the shoulder opposite of the missing tyre put it into a severely unbalanced spin and final tip-over. Still just waitin...
