Cold transmission = no shifting from 2nd to 3rd
My 96 Exceed will not shift from 2nd into 3rd when it's cold. The problem goes away after 30k or so of driving. Re: Tach sensor location
So there appears to be a terminal on the engine side of the injector pump with a cable attached. I have to assume (risky) that this cable goes to the instrument panel and is available to hook up a tach in the dash. Now I need to find a donor for an instrument panel.

Tach sensor location
I've acquired a camper on an L300 truck chassis (read plain jane) and there's no tach. I want to change the instrument panel to one that includes a tach, but don't know if there is an opening in the drive train to accept the sensor. It would see logical that there is. I've looked at the exploded dra...

Re: L400 crank issue
To continue the story of the crank pulley replacement: Rocky Mountain Imports sent me the pulley at a very reasonable price and I was able to, with the help of the forums' advice, (thanks Jesse) re &re the pulley. There did not appear to be any damage to the key or the keyway and the pulley fit ...
