Re: New to L400's ? What to look for and/or replace on 4M40

If a service shop insists on rebuilding the whole injection pump and replacing the seals, I recommend to get a 2nd opinion unless the original diagnostic is done by a reputable service shop. can be a bit tricky once it is out though and car is in a workshop as you have taken it to be repaired given...

Re: Injection pump seal on its way out? Help !

How come we replace timing belt kit every 100K even if they are not broken???? ..chains on the 4m40 don't need to be replaced at 100k kms...as they are not belts Yes the fuel pump is a weakness in the series 1's (94-4/97 (mechanical pump) but can be as simple as a ill fitting fuel filter as well th...

Re: L400 decals

Almost guys after starting out in a Chamonix or bluespew as we call them (carpet reference) they are indeed the workshorse snow pack in blue. The Jasper is the same in green (Jasper ala ski resort closer to your guys in the Rockys I believe) and yes both have dual batteries for cold starting and som...

Re: Is Fixing Delicas in the U.S.A a problem?

Getting parts is not an issue ex Japan but even in Australia where have approx 10000 Spacegears most mechanics refuse to touch them or other imports. They are relatively simple if you can get parts to your door which is 3/4 of the mechanics issues with any foreign car.

Re: Electric Closure on Sliding Door

The issue is the contacts and they can be bought new ex Japan. A simple 5 min self install is all that it takes. TPS in stock as well and they are getting harder to source in Japan due to the virtual non existence of the series 1 Spacegear diesel. http://www.delicashop.com/p/44/TPS.html I will find ...

Re: 94 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Royal Exceed LWB = In transit

The yellow lights are in fact covers for snow driving (were made in Australia) and simply remove as they are about 3mm moulded plastic. Royal exceed has tweeters on dash and heated seats and very rare in the later models (think the latest I have seen is 1998) unlike the green over grey colour scheme...

Re: L400 rear springs

The closet on OEM coils are landrover if you want to lift 40mm and have a hard ride (unless ur carrying a constant load) As for pajero - wrong answer like most parts in these cars...they do share some common bits like the engine block - but there are many variations in the motor, upper ball joints, ...

Re: long steep hills

Ensure that the thermostat is a genuine one not aftermarket as we have experienced often down under misreadings as a result. The 4m40 head is sus to cracking (design issue from Mitsubishi in Japan) so keep it cool and maintained may avoid the inevitable. Avoid coolant bottles that weigh under 1kg as...

If there an RHD issue in Canada why don't u buy LHD Delicas?

Not understanding the local issues why don't importers simply but LHD L300 and L400s (not from Japan) and smaller 2500TDi engines but still a very similar car.

The L400s have better seats and twin sliding doors as well in the LHD models.

Re: K&N E-2877 air filter.

Can I ask do you have access to the Foam unifilter for the petrol and diesel as we have found after quite a few years of L400s that the K&N is noisy and not as gooder performer to the Unifilter.
