Re: What shall we do about green1?
Jaz, you can't hate me because i won't let you hate me but i will understand if you do end up hating me since the internet is for hatred (or is that "the internet is for nasty"). i am so confused.... you are right and you have the right to be right since it is our Net given right to be rig...

Re: What shall we do about green1?
in my opinion, that would be 'weight' not 'wait' but then that is my opinion and there is not much weight to it...since i didn't do well in english class. but i will wait to be corrected... :-D "There I did it, I wrote an opinion on the internet that doesn't hold any wait or value. A place that...

Re: Pyro and Boost gauge - what kind and where did you mount 'em
okay, you made me laugh. allow me to rephrase, on a DELICA i mount the probe into the exhaust elbow directly after the turbo (like you did). if you are adding a turbo to a NA diesel engine then i like to mount them into the manifold (like a Safari, Land Cruiser, Elf or maybe those camper delicas tha...

Re: HELP!! RAN OUT OF DIESEL!!!
the idea of disconnecting the battery is not a bad one. also understand it takes a lot to ignite diesel. a spark will not ignite it, a constant "glow" from a shorted out wrench soaked in diesel might be a concern though. You don't need to remove the battery. Why would you do that? weird. S...

Re: HELP!! RAN OUT OF DIESEL!!!
for a cleaner bleed then hand pump till firm, crack the bleeder, lock and repeat till all air is gone. As stated in the 2.5 4D5 Fuel pump pdf found here in the files 1. Loosen the fuel filter air plug 2. Place rags around the air plug hole. Operate the hand pump repeatedly until no bubbles come from...

Re: Pyro and Boost gauge - what kind and where did you mount 'em
very nice write up, congrats. one side note, you could still be hitting higher EGTs in O/D at 3000 rpm up a steep hill (i am not sure if i ever drove your test road) or even bucking a strong head wind. on a longer hill such as the Coqu or Rogers Pass or even the Malahat (sp?) it is best to be carefu...

Re: Pyro and Boost gauge - what kind and where did you mount 'em
remember a pyrometer is an important GUIDE to use to modify the driving habits. probably the most important gauge a diesel engine can have. i did a write up on another thread recently as to how the pyro and coolant temp gauges react differently and why. the location of the probe is the most importan...

Re: Canadian Safari's
Safari's are great vehicles. reliable, fuel efficent (for a tank), quiet, powerful (even without a turbo they can move nicely)... yep, if i wasn't into Cruisers i would have one.

50% want you gone, 50% want you to stay but loose the attitude. "general feeling is the site would be better off without me" i would say you are looking at it the wrong way. you know you had the same feelings toward you on another site so maybe you need to work on your cyber presonality. 5...

since you are giving this thought process decent posting maybe i will share some experience afterall.
