The End of a Slayer

Wasn't too sure where to put this post, as it covers a few things. Well, on our way out of the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal tonight, we blew up our radiator. Quick (HA!) tow to Marpole, and now we're in problem solving mode. The van is dead in the water at the moment, and after a good 5 year run wit...

In need of a drawing.

Hello all, For my wife's next tattoo, she wants to include a drawing of a delica. Looking for something cartoon(ish), in the bush(forest). Since neither of us are artists, and my trusty friend Google hasn't helped much, I throw a request to the masses. Anyone? For payment, she's willing to offer fre...

Re: Removing door armrest

I believe they're also screwed from the inside (of the panel). The screws (from the outside) actually hold the panel in place, not much to do with holding the armrest on.

Re: Help Troubleshoot Rear End Death rattle.

I did the rear sway bar links & bushings thinking thats what the noise was all about (and they really needed a change). The noise comes and goes, been quiet since the post.... I did the rear shocks last spring. This noise was nowhere to be seen untill ...... 1. About 6 months ago the noise came ...

Help Troubleshoot Rear End Death rattle.

Well, Got a nasty sound coming from rear end. Best I can explain is sounds like some Heavy duty metal on metal when either: A. Jarring bump (think brutal pothole) B. Minor bump while cornering. I can sometimes simulate this if, when parked, I grab the rear bumper and wiggle side to side like a madma...

Info on Replacement Door Glass

Hey all, Thanks to our wonderful BC roads, I'm in need of a new piece of glass for my drivers side door. She's a 93 L300 I'm just looking for some info at the moment. 1. Are the doors different for high roof/low roof/crystal light? (I don't think so, but...) 2. Has anyone gone through ICBC for repla...

Re: Squeal under load, waste gate?

Mine recently started doing that too. I suspect the wastegate (diaphragm in particular) is the problem but I haven't gotten any further than guessing.

I've taken the spare down to 20psi, and its still tight. Proceeding with adding 1" to the basket.

Spare Tire Fit

Hey all, Recently had to get a new spare tire (long story) and the new one is a little too snug. It's stock size, same size as all others, however its perhaps a little too fat. Can't seem to get it to fit. So, short of getting a different tire, or a roof basket, I was thinking of modifying the baske...

In Kamloops, I've had a number of things done at Franco's. The work is satisfactory, but the shop rate is ridiculous. I've heard goods and bads about them, but I've never suffered from their work, so the only gripe I have is the cost.

Turbo Waste-gate Replacement

Hey all. I had my L300 at a shop in Kamloops to diagnose the turbo woes I've been having lately, and from what I deciphered from their analysis, the waste-gate is toast, (broken diaphragm). I'm still waiting on a quote for the parts/labor, but, knowing what they charge for labor, I'm going to want t...

Fuses?
Or perhaps the combo switch is dead/dieing. There's a post here somewhere about fixing it.

Re: Questions about engine component

Today I got around to some work. I replaced the relief valve with a new one and also removed the EGR. I'm a little nervous about actually starting it up now though.... Complete removal of the EGR is an option, right? As opposed to fitting the plates in and keeping the EGR bolted in, just blocked off...
