Re: New owner in love with a '96 L400 diesel: San Diego, CA

I'd give the guys at F&M Diesel (Off Miramar Rd) in San Diego. They currently have my L300 in for an engine swap and the owner used to drive an L400. They've worked on my old L400 as well... Tell them Scott sent you!

Re: Ahhhhh!!!

Well, on the Turbocharge side of things... Depending on WHEN your 1993 Delica was made, you'd either have the MD106720 - 1989.08.1 - 1993.04.3 - aka Garrett 49177-01510 MD194841 - 1993.05.1 - 1996.10. - aka Garrett 49177-01512 MR355221 - 1993.05.1 - 1996.10. - ( Amayama says this is a replacement pa...

Can't locate parasitic draw

What I had to do to find my parasitic draw in my L300, was think outside the box. :) 1 - Connect my battery to a trickle charger 2 - Let the car sit overnight 3 - Use a FLIR One Gen3 iPhone adapter (about $200) to look at the temperature of things in the car 4 - Nothing under the dash was warm (arou...

L300 Parasitic Voltage Drain ?!!!

I had a similar issue with a parasitic drain. Turned out to be the diode of my alternator. I found it by putting my battery on a trickle charger and let the car sit overnight and cool. Used a FLIR thermal camera to "look" for heat and the ONLY thing that was above 65-70F was the alternator...

Is it possible to prevent a head being cracked?

Being in Southern California and liking to drive out into the local deserts like Death Valley, Mohave, Anza Borrego, etc... What I did was install a DelicaWorks Aluminum dual-core radiator , a PLX Devices DM-6 with boost, voltage, coolant, and EGT and a DelicaWorks 2.5 side exhaust . So, now I can t...

Replace factory stereo - L300 (best choice?)

I just installed a double DIN Boss Audio PVCP9675A head unit which supports a back up camera, Apple CarPlay, and was only $220 USD on Amazon when I purchased it. Was a simple install to do, apart from running the video cable for the camera.
