The thread's moved swiftly from importing to diesel mechanics in Portland, so it's fine here. Just keep it updated with your results! :-)
Thanks Growler!

Well I thought I had an importer here in Portland but I was wrong

Did you check oregondieselimports.com? Yea, I've gone up there and test drove a Delica. Im not a big fan of what they have in stock, plus they don't really do much work on their Delicas once they get em. For the most part they just get em in and sell em. I'm certainly not saying there's anything wr...

Well I thought I had an importer here in Portland but I was wrong

Hi guys. This post may be better suited in the IMPORT section. I trust a mod will move it if that's the case. Well I thought I had an importer here in Portland, OR but I was wrong. I had a very discouraging conversation with the guy yesterday on the phone, basically got the impression he wasn't inte...

How do you keep the revs in the correct range going up hill in automatic?

Mostly the gearbox will choose the best gear itself. "Automatically", you could say. If it's having trouble deciding (shifting up and down too often) or you just feel more revs would be better, you can push the "overdrive" switch on the selector which disables 4th gear and force...

I've read a ton about how when going up hills in a five speed it's best to put it in second gear so the revs stay high. But what about with an automatic? How do you make sure the revs stay high? Hope this isn't a silly question :)

Greetings from Portland, Oregon

I actually just test drove a Delica over at Oregon Diesel imports up on 82nd last weekend. It was a blast to drive. Like driving a small funky bus :-D FYI, this is where I bought my Delica about a month ago. Had a great experience with them. Yea, Crankshaft. They seem like great people over there. ...

How do you keep the revs in the correct range going up hill in automatic?

Hello folks. I'm a prospective Delica owner in the States, very close to pulling the trigger on importing an L300 auto. I have a question about driving up hills and keeping the rpm's high, or at the right place. I understand that while driving a Deli up a good size hill with a 5 speed it's best for ...

Another seat belt question regarding the L300

I think they were introduced in mid 1991. I had a 1991 that was early 91 and installed them myself. I bought them from a delica being parted out. The bottom attachment is easy it's the shoulder roof bolt that's a bit of a pain. Thanks helibrian :) I appreciate the response. It helps. So you just si...

Another seat belt question regarding the L300

Hello all. I'm working on putting together my list of requirements for a Delica L300 Super Exceed I'll be bringing into the states pretty soon. One requirement I have is a shoulder harness seat belt for the captains chairs. I've read they generally only have lap seat belts, but late 1992 models came...
