L400 Fender Flares

Hey all...this is fender flare-related post (mostly). Basically I'd like to beef up the look of our series one 97 L400 a bit - but nothing too crazy/absurd. I think L400s with fender flares help achieve that (at least those that I have seen on series 2 L400 vans), and also provide some protection fo...

L400 - Simple & Effective Camper-ization (LWB recommended)

Thanks sthaddeus. I still have the Delica and love the setup. Periodically, and for winter, I remove the sleeping platform and store it. So currently, it is not in the van for me to verify the questions you have asked. However...from memory: 1) Will it go into bed mode with the 2nd row of seats slid...

L400 V6 (6G72) Exhaust / Tuning Question

Im a proud owner of a 96 L400 S1 LWB V6 (6G72). I'd like to know what I NEED to do, at a minimum, to replace the exhaust, or portions of the exhaust system. I know there are sensors in the exhaust system, potentially pre-and-post catalytic converter? Can anyone confirm? Is it possible to remove the ...

Looking to buy a Delica

Hi, I recently stumbled across the Delicas and want one! I am looking to buy one in Alberta and then drive it up the Northwest Territories. It should be an excellent feel to transport my family, dogs, and gear around town and the winter road. What are some things I should look for when buying? I no...

Sunroof rust repair: Madness may ensue, as usual.

Dear jebas! You are my hero Growler. I wish I had the skills and knowledge to complete half the stuff you do! So...I have a 96 L400 LWB with some rust on the middle of the roof between the windshield and the front sunroof. What should be done about it?

L400 Oil Filter Question

Hi all, So I managed to forget to put the extra oil filter I brought along in my van when leaving Vancouver, now in Fairbanks, AK, wondering if anyone knows if there is a parts supplier, or a filter that will work on 1995 L400 that can be purchased up here? Thanks! Diesel or gasser? With the gasser...

Looking to buy, do's and don'ts?

I'm the opposite of Cosmo. I have a 96 L400 LWB gasser. LWB a must in my opinion if you want it for long road tripping and camping. V6 is nicer on highway for sure...quieter, more high-end power for sure. V6 was also used in the Montero in North America, making some engine parts easier to come by. D...

Brakes - ABS Tone Rings- Help!

Hey All, I just had my front brake calipers replaced a few weeks ago (sticking), as well as pads and rotors. However, when my mechanic attempted to swap the rotors out, he balked at trying to re-use the ABS tone rings from the old rotors as he said they were stuck/corroded and he was positive he'd b...
