Looking for Block Prep/Engine Build tools in Victoria

Hi,

I'm trying to locate a bore gauge (dial indicator), cylinder hone and misc build tools in Victoria, BC (or near)? Would pay for shipping if you're close'ish.

Thank you!

rough cold start

HI! Before I crank out a new thread, thought i'd 'zombie' this one. :) Did this work? I'm guessing by the lack of replies that it might have. I am experiencing the same/similar issue. Only when cold, lots of white, bad misfiring. Just completed the EGR delete and brand new injector nozzles. Reduced ...

Infernal Squeaking from under the chassis

I had a similar sound a few weeks ago. Got out my trust grease gun and hit all the nipples (especially the ones on the front suspension). No more squeak! *** NOTE: just do ONE squeeze of the grease gun per nipple or you can blow out the rubber covers!!! *** NippleGreasing.jpg It takes a bit of sleu...

Infernal Squeaking from under the chassis

I hope someone out there might know this one. It's a head scratcher. There is a squeaking that comes from under the chassis. It sounds like a rubber bushing moving inside a carrier or something. It's not constant but squeals like rubbing on movement, like over bumps, turning the wheels at a stand st...

To Sleeve or Not to Sleeve? Replacing Cylinder Liners on a 4d56td Rebuild

Sorry to basically hijack your build thread, but what is the concern about machining the crankshaft, is a milled crank that is not "re-nitrided" going to fail spectacularly? Totally helpful addition to this thread. I mangled my keyway so I have to buy a new crank when it finally comes out. But I'm ...

Beauty doin' eh!? This is very similar to what i have in mind, although I'll have drawers in the back with heavy duty sliders. Anyway, how did you handle the ridges when building up the flooring? I was thinking of trying to keep the 2 rear seats but might just setup a simple sliding seat w backrest ...

To Sleeve or Not to Sleeve? Replacing Cylinder Liners on a 4d56td Rebuild

Hey, thanks GB. Def not a lot of rebuild chatter on here. Apparently, the local shop can get new AM cranks for the 4d56. Pretty sure they are Hyundai. I'll take the block to a diesel shop and have them take a peek. I've treated it very nice since it arrived, but it wasn't treated well prior.

L300 at Prospect Lake Auto in Victoria?

Hey, your deli has been hanging out at Prospect Lake Auto for quite a while now. Apparently it had a gas tank leak and brakes? Anyway, I hope everything is going alright. I snuck in there and snapped this pic. Me on the left, you on the right. :) I'm envious of your hitch. :-D

To Sleeve or Not to Sleeve? Replacing Cylinder Liners on a 4d56td Rebuild

There weren't very many results for +cylinder +sleeve or +liner so here goes. Calling out all experienced engine re-builders. Having shredded the keyway in my Crank recently (see http://delica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18031 for reference), I'll be rebuilding this summer. This is possibly a silly...

Crank Pulley (balancer) marks don't line up. Spun?

Whoops, sorry for not replying. Nope, I kept her going. Pulled everything off, new sprockets, keys, harmonic balancer from Ebay. Set the new keys in and lathered everything in LockTite 660 (wow, pricey goop). Oh, and a new crankbolt of course. Torqued it all down and have been driving for a couple m...

I second this! Used ones are too brittle and don't last. (As per CCA)

A/T not shifting into 4th gear

Hey, my l300 had this issue, well it never had a 4th gear after I acquired it. The fix was the overdrive solenoid. Try to find a wrecker as they don't fail that often. Installed the used one and instantly had 4th. Hope that helps! The test was to run power to the unit and drive. If still no shift, t...
