Re: Single -> Dual Piston brake upgrade + auto -> Manual hubs

Just finished the brake upgrade... Wow what a difference. This is the best mod by far for the delica.. forget all the others until you do this. Got the rotors and pads from NAPA in victoria and the Calipers from LORDCO in Victoria. The finished cost was $350-400 so more than it costs in the states b...

Re: trailer hitch wanted

If you are in victoria we had ours made out in sooke by driver enterprises.
It is the 3 receiver type and has worked quite well.
I would not tow without an exhaust gas temp meter though as our little engines are already working very hard.

Victoria to Bamfield

Hey we just returned from our weekend camping trip in Bamfield. We took logging roads from the top or lake Cowichan to Bamfield, via Francis lake. Does anyone know why in the middle of know where near francis lake there is a 10K stretch of paved road? We just cant figure that out as the other roads ...

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Hi Erbus

Just wondering how your EGT probe installed? and if its possible to get it out a bit further.
But you are right about the manifold and turbo taking longer to cool down than just the gasses.

Thanks

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Erbus... Some thing is very wrong with your EGT gauge.. Its reading very slowly. EGT temps do not need time to cool down as they are a product of combustion not a byproduct of the heat of combustion. When you add fuel the EGTs go up when you back off they go down.. they are almost instant. On accele...

Re: CCautos

The citation for too much exhaust doesn't come with a fine. There are penalties though. You are given 30 days to have the vehicle tested and the problem fixed. The shop who does the test sends a form in and the citation is cleared. If you are pulled over a second time, beyond the 30 day period and y...

Re: Considering a Delica, questions about towing stability etc..

We had a hitch made for the delica in Sooke by Driver enterprises. Its similar to the E&H hitch from Vancouver and has 3 receivers to put more stuff on. I would really Recommend a exhaust Temperature gauge (EGT or Pyrometer) as with all that weight you could cook your engine. Our delica tows gre...

Re: CCautos

Hi All The old IP was on its way out so we opted to keep the new one. The failed part was the throttle position sensor that control the EGR valve. When it went the ERG would stay open all the time. As for the EGR its closed normally. The vacuum line opens it so blanking it is not needed if you want ...

CCautos

So Our trusty Delica got a citation for belching to much black smoke.. At the time i was away at sea so i had my girl friend take the van to CCautos in coombs to be fixed. Re: Engine Auxillary Gauge Installation

Hi I mounted my gauges under the radio as they just fit.. I have oil pressure volt and a combo pyro/boost. The gauges are 2 inch. The oil presure is the most usefull as the stock oil light only turns on at 3-5 psi long after the engine has sustained terminal damage. The pyro and boost gauge were qui...

Re: cant remove injector's copper gaskets

YOU CAN REUSE THE COPPER CRUSH WASHERS!! if they are really fighting to come out leave them.. just check your injectors carbon.gum around them after a short drive. If they are leaking you will see some gum and possibly some bubble- ing around the injectors. Or to check you can fill up the hole aroun...

Re: diesel quality

I am not sure on this.. but i dont think that all of the stations have thier own refinery..
maby golfcart may know..
but i think that thier is only 2 or 3 diesel suppliers.

If this is the case then.. you would need to know who supplies what.
