That's my plan, the only tricky part is figuring out which size fuse would be appropriate...sk66 wrote:I would replace it with an in-line fuse holder available at any auto parts supply.

It may actually be #54 or #55 that is the exact fusible link in the photo above, but you guys get the idea..

Another Glow system mystery
The wire was the woe of my manual relays malfunctioning after all. It is in fact a fusible link for the harness that runs from your battery to your glow relays. I'm just guessing here but I assume that my ecu partially cooked the fusible link when it was over glowing the glow plugs. When I hooked up...

Weak heater L300
You should try a rad blocker, but your thermostat could also be partially stuck open, how long does it take for your engine to warm up? I usually idle mine for about five minutes, and then it takes another five minutes of driving to reach full normal temperature. My rear heater hasn't worked since I...

Checked the glow plugs (pulled them out and hooked them up to the battery one at a time, they lit up perfectly :-D ) so at least I didn't fry those. What I did find with further digging is a rather melted wire coming off the battery terminal and running into one of the harnesses. wire.jpg I unplugge...

Hey John, I have a similar back up system to you. I draw power from one of the hot side of the relays, running to an On-Off-On momentary switch. Then two wires run back to the relays to operate them on and off. I've have good continuity with all my wires, a constant 12v flow. However the relays are ...

Update, now I have check for continuity on all of my.manual glow switch wiring, passed with flying colours. Next I pulled the relays out and cracked them open to inspect. They were shiny and clean on the inside with nothing visibly wrong. Next I opened up the wiring harness that comes off of the inj...

How did you go about finding the chafe? Ripping open harnesses at random and checking each wire?

Here's what I have going on now, 92 Chamonix, with the super fast (2 relay) glow system. Glow plugs new in the fall, glow ECU rebuilt start of November. New battery last month. After my ECU was rebuilt in the fall, the van was cold starting as good as it ever has. Glow plugs were functioning almost ...

Brake Bleeding Issues
Got it, I cleaned the nipple which wasn't clogged, but a much more thorough and patient bleed of the rear brakes involving some inspired pedal pumping revealed some large air pockets we had missed the first two times. Looks like third time was a charm, all back together now!

Brake Bleeding Issues
After replacing my master cylinder I've run into another headache upon bleeding the brake system. Brake fluid won't pump though my G-Sensing Valve at the the end of the bleeding process. My guess is a rust blockage in one of the lines.. Has anybody had this issue? Have to have it fixed for tomorrow,...

I got my ECU re-built by Daniel (w1ngselectronics) out of Victoria. His price was super reasonable and he had it done super quick. Only thing that sucks is if your not on the island..

How to fix your dash temp guage for good!
There always been a lot of talk about where that little needle should sit on our dash temp gauges. I'm sure at this point a fair few people have gone ahead and needlessly changed thermostats thinking their engine was running cold. I'm also confident people have driven around with cracked heads or ot...

The first relay feeds the plugs >9V until they are hot. (You should hear it click on, and then off again after 6-9 seconds). Then when your cranking you should hear it clicking on and off until it fires (not sure which relay that is). Once it fires the lower voltage relay with the dropping resistor ...
