I did a 2" BL on my Mk2 and had to relieve the plastic console and remove the rubber boot for my T-case shifter to stay in 2WD. You may need to relieve the sheetmetal as well with the 3", but as Phil said, the only way to know for sure is to do a little digging.

I had the same thing happen to my Pajero while climbing a steepish hill on the #1 in BC. Overspeeding the engine could've been a factor as I didn't have a working tach at the time. I was trying to make good time as mine maxes out at about 110km on the highway, I'm guessing it's extremely low geared....

For those not sub'd to our other Edmonton meet thread, there's a little get together going on at West Mount Tim Hortons on April 18, 10:30am. Hope we can get more than a few JDM 4WD owners out to "shoot the $#!+". Maybe get the tires Muddy? Gets the Kids and dogs out of the house too.
