Dash lights, sliding door auto-lock kaput

Update: After some more digging, it seemed as though "tail light" was the most likely fuse for the dash lights. Then, when I drove the van to work in the dark this morning, two people flashed their brights at me incessantly. Evidently my tail lights were out: another good clue. So I switch...

Dash lights, sliding door auto-lock kaput

These may not be related, but the dash lights (for speedo, tach, fuel, temp) don’t come on anymore, even when headlights are on. SuperSelect, warning lights, gear indicator and turn signals all still work. I’m hoping it’s a fuse, but I can’t find a fuse for dash lights. Does anyone know which fuse t...

L400 Hitch Sources - in the Prairies?!?

I'm wanting to put a hitch on the back of my '94 LWB L400 to tow a Boler-type trailer, and I'm wondering where I can find one in Manitoba. Does anyone have any great ideas? We'll be going as far as Alberta in the summer if that helps, but won't be making it to BC, so places like E&H Hitch are ou...

Starting Issue (not due to the cold?!?!)

Well, after 8 weeks (no fun with 4 kids and a Corolla) at a diesel shop that ended up not fixing the problem (but did still manage to cost us an insane amount of money) I took it to Peg City Auto. He tinkered with the fuel pump as well, and had it running, but he still wasn't satisfied with it, so h...

Starting Issue (not due to the cold?!?!)

Turns out it's having its fuel pump rebuilt. So, I'm rather glad I didn't spend too much time fiddling around, as I'd not have been able to tackle that!!

Starting Issue (not due to the cold?!?!)

Sent it to a shop. Just don't have the time to putter around these days (and no garage means it's chilly work!!).

Thanks for the help! I can't stress enough what a fantastic resource this site is!!

Starting Issue (not due to the cold?!?!)

So I went out the other day to let the van warm up a bit while I got my jacket and shoes on, and it didn't start. Not the end of the world, I took the car. Later, I was troubleshooting with my wife and discovered that she had filled the van and not put in any fuel conditioner. I figured the diesel m...

L400 Sunrook Leak?

We've had our L400 for a few years now and never had any leaks. Granted, we're in Winnipeg, not BC, but it's been good so far.

Injector Heat Shield Gasket?

Thanks a bunch!! I may have found them on ccautos website, and it looks like Butch may be able to help me out. He's already replied with some questions, trying to better understand exactly what it is I'm after before offering to sell me something . Seems like a truly stand-up guy.

Injector Heat Shield Gasket?

Anyone know a local-ish source (or even part #) for injector heat shield gaskets (for an L400/4M40)? Van is currently in a shop in some state of disrepair, which means the family is stranded until we can get our hands on some.

roof racks

We went through this exact conundrum this summer and actually bought the 8" feet and found that, while the bar did clear the roof in the back, it did not have enough clearance to get our Thule roofbox onto it - the feet didn't have enough space to clamp. We may have been able to do it by liftin...

Rain Gutter

Hey, you know that sound when you drive your Thule roof carrier into your carport and your roof rack rips off of the rain gutter? Me too. It sucks. On a related note, does anyone have a LWB parts Delica that they wouldn't mind losing the rain gutters off of? Preferably in or near Winnipeg? Long shot...

Block heater

Does this help? Maybe this ? We have a block heater and an stick-on oil pan heater on our '94 L400. We use the block heater all winter, but if it's really cold (which it often is in Winnipeg) we kick in the oil pan heater. Works like a charm!! I like the block heater because you can plug it in overn...

SOS: SIS (stuck in Saskatchewan)!!

I think I see the trouble. You've got two Mitsubishi Japan numbers there, a truncated Bosch number (with a digit missing), and I have no idea what the LTD one is. Get the parts guy to try these (knowing what brand each number represents will help): BOSCH : 0986020421 2042 WOOD AUTO : STR71000 LESTE...

SOS: SIS (stuck in Saskatchewan)!!

Camping in Buffalo Pound, went to start the van to go down to the beach, and it wouldn't start. Batteries are good, starter isn't. Tried tapping the starter with some implements to encourage it, no luck. Getting towed right away to Moose Jaw. Does anyone know the North American part no. for the star...
