Alternator Belts replacement

You're onto it with removing the driver's seat and fan cover. You'll also want to remove the fan itself as well. Then mark the location of the fastener on the a/c tensioner, remove it, and loosen the tension to be able to take off the a/c belt. To remove the power steering belt just crack loose the ...

Broken camshaft bearing caps and rocker arm

I ordered a bare cylinder head from Quantico in May. Had a valve job done on it and moved the old rocker over as it was still relatively new. Pretty damn cheap for the head (bare or assembled) free shipping, and good reviews of the company. Also it was one of the only protruding valves i could find ...

Air adjustable shock absorbers

Man those pins are a pain to get out! I ended up hack sawing off both ends then using sockets to be able to push the remaining metal out for anyone looking for a different way/ only has access to a C clamp..

Front brake line parts numbers?

Also if you're replacing it, switching to steel braided might be a nice upgrade. Russel makes some that fit.

Low Mph High Temp

I gotcha. I put in the new clutch because on highway hill climbs it was creeping up high as well (EGT's around 1100f) driving around in 4wd slow on back roads was causing it before as well. I remembered you had added to a post that a new fan clutch may help (at least on the highway side) The fan did...

Your EGT installation

My boost and EGT gauge are EDO and I've liked them so far. solid construction and an easy install. I removed my EGR and had a shop tap the blanking plate to put in the EGT probe. Very easy and hassle free. I put up some pictures of the pods on a previous post. http://delica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=...

Low Mph High Temp

I'm curious if I'm the only one with this problem. Going up logging roads, and not incredibly steep ones by any means, my EGTS were around 650f but my dash temp kept rising. It finally got up near the 3/4 mark and I put the front and rear blower on to help cool it down as I crested the ridge. I just...

Running Sluggish

I haven't pinpointed it yet. It just seems really weird. The van drives along fine and seems like it's got some get up and go, shifts from gear to gear with good acceleration. and then it gets to 4th and really bogs down. I'm fiddling with the boost diaphragm so we'll see if that can alleviate it. I...

No I still have it. If I remember right it goes off on mine around 14-15psi. I was going to keep it on there until I install that intercooler.

So the wastegate is adjusted and it wont get above 12. I adjusted the diaphragm and It runs pretty well. I can cruise up passes for the most part no problem. It still seems weird that the van has plenty of *pep* off the line but when it gets to 4th it bogs down noticeably, maybe I'll hone it a littl...

Questions for a newbie Delica L300 with hopes of Campervan mods

Congrats on the purchase Trewdat! Delica's are a fun little rig to put around in. 1) What are some basics of owning a diesel vehicle? I've never owned one and am unsure if there's any simple things I need to be aware of in order not to mess up the engine. First thing a lot of people would recommend ...

I really didn't want excess loctite making its way down the shaft and into the bearing... Yeah no thanks on that bearing gunked up. I would adjust the wastegate and drive it around for a bit, confirm the 12psi over a couple of days, before adjusting the diaphragm. That way if anything goes ...

Alright good to know. I'll crawl back under there and adjust the wastegate, hopefully without too many burns to the hands! Then move on to adjusting the diaphragm. Just got around to pulling the dash off last night to zero out the tach. Did you pull the whole thing apart or just apply a little lockt...
