My old bus moved south

Well that didn't take long... I heard today that my old bus left CCA for the states and within 24 hours was face down in the mud after getting crashed into a ditch and written off. :( A sad ending for that little bus. Ahh well...

My old bus moved south

Thanks Falco. Good to see you. Funny, I haven't really missed that little bus until now. I guess I knew where she was and now she's out in the world having adventures I don't know about with a new captin at her helm. Been humming Long May You Run since I heard... lol. Cheers!

My old bus moved south

My good old L-300 chucked a bottom end last spring and I moved on with a new, different ride. The lads at CCA spent the winter fixing up the motor and such and, I hear, she has recently motored off to Arizona with her third owner and in her third country. If that new owner finds her way onto this fo...

Re: Been fun, but now it's gone...

D'oh! Your input will be missed. I'm curious about what you'll replace the Deli with though. Found a really well kept, low kms 05 Toyota Highlander. No as good an interior space as my bus, but it has heaps of power for my work trailer and is just so much newer and fresher than my tired old bus. Tha...

Been fun, but now it's gone...

Hey all. Just wanted to say thanks and goodbye. After nearly ten years of motoring fun my bus packed it in. The bottom end of the motor is done and I can't face spending the money to fix it so I'm moving on. It sure has been a great ride and this forum was a big part of it. Happy motoring everyone. ...

Re: fuel tank question

There are two tanks but they are one system - you can't remove either of them.

Re: head gasket leak?

It is a big job, and as you overheated, likely the head needs to be replaced. Believe me, I know.... As for the mechanics not knowing the vehicles, it shouldn'd be an issse for any competent wrencher. It is just another car, after all. Good luck with the fix. Hope you get motoring again soon without...

Re: Manual hubs for a l300

In the winter I often just leave my manuals locked and even if I do need to lock them in a pinch in bad weather, I don't have to get out to do it - just open the door an reach down. Best to have a passenger do the other side, but I can stretch over and do that one from the inside easy enough. THe re...

Re: 4D56T Mileage

230,000 ish for me. The head on my bus cracked not long after CCA mechanic Darren asked me if the head was the original. When I told him it was he tsk, tsked and said that it's more of a when rather than an if the head cracks. When it did go CCA fixed it and did a bunch more stuff and I'm up and mot...

Re: temperature concerns: New to Delica

Depends on the gauge too. Mine runs at about the halfway mark for normal running, and up to close to 3/4 going up long, steep hills. Gear down and slow down is the general rule.
