JB500 camper body on L300 truck chassis build
I've been eyeing these for years and never pulled the trigger for some reason. I know there's a few floating around and sparse information on the net, so I'm going to do a thread specifically on the JB500 in it's stock form for maintenance/specs and then I'll be modifying it with the usual suspensio...

Cross drilled disc brake
I had those rotors on my L400 and ended up having to pick up little rocks that got caught between the holes and the pads. I ended up returning them and using the vented rotors with success after. Hopefully you've got better luck with them as they do have that cool look factor.

Calling all Espar users!
Felix did a nice job on his L300 back in the glory days when we were modding like mad.

Re: WOnt turn over after changing out glow plugs
I experienced a similar only cranking when connected to an external power source (booster/car). It turned out to be the ground wire. Trace it from block to body to battery 'Y'. Hope it works for ya

Re: Would love your input
Has your partner driven RHD's ? I hear this story a lot "afraid, not comfortable, etc .." and then the person finally drives a RHD for a bit and loves it. Every single person (including my mom) who said they didn't feel comfortable driving RHD either own one now or had fun after getting us...

Looks like a mild 1-2" lift it at all. Can't see the tire size but looks like 30" tires.

Felix & Toni did a year long trip down. http://dinoevo.de/gallery/road-trips/ Pablo & Anna have been all over and back again many times over http://viajeros4x4x4.wordpress.com/ The L300 is a good unit to take down. Be prepared to get to know your deli intimately :) Not sure how many old time...

Re: HD springs and shocks
If you are looking for little to no body roll on an L400, shocks are not the answer. Up rated HD springs and HD torsion bars is what you'd be after. The cheap work around is to toss in a pair of airbags in the rear without the supplied puck spacers. When you inflate them, they won't raise the van. J...
