Re: Proper compression numbers

Thanks Falco.
I checked the other shop manual for the 4d56t engine but not the one you mentioned, thanks. It appears the proper compression is 3040 kpa or 440 psi so it seems that I am in the right range.

Just out of curiosity, do you know what the 6t means on the 4d56t number?

Proper compression numbers

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the proper compression numbers for a 91 diesel delica.
I have done a search and have found a range from 300 to 450.
I just did a compression test on my van and this resulted in compression of 425-450 across all cylinders. Is this ok or to high?

Thank you

Testing fan clutch

Does anyone have a write up on how to remove the fan and refill the clutch silicone oil?
I am thinking that my fan is not working properly as my egt's are higher then normal.

thank you

Do i have a cooling isssue?

So I noticed my egts doing something a little funny after driving around shortly I notice that the egt's stay around 4 or 500 even when I am stopped. should they not drop right down? I do not drive fast and I usually keep them around 900 and never over ten except for very short time periods. I just ...

Injector parts?

hi all I have a feeling that my injectors need to be rebuilt/ tested. I have hard cold starts with lots of white smoke until she warms up. I just got my head replaced but now I have a injector that is leaking just a little. I know I can buy new ones for 100 each from the Vancouver shops but I am not...

Possibly need a new head..... Ideas?

Hi all So I posted a while ago that my l300 was running rough. Turns out that I have zero pressure in my cylinder 3. I am expecting the worst and I think my timing belt slipped. Crappy since I had it scheduled for service three days later. The mechanic in Saskatoon will start working on it in the ne...

Re: Help! She is running rough! Stranded in saskatoon

Hey all the story goes pretty much as Fire song said. He's a great guy and it was nice to have a fellow deli owner try to come to our rescue. Except.... Emilie met me in Saskatoon (home is in Regina) and we went to pick up her new car! A really nice Subaru outback. It a great vehicle!!! Except it wo...

Re: Help! She is running rough! Stranded in saskatoon

Well I tried to get her running this morning and no luck. I ran my webasto heater got 40 min and it did not do the trick. It sure seems to be a fuel problem. There is no oil in the coolant and I have no idea if it could be the turbo. I would not be surprised if its a timing issue. I actually have it...

A/C / Regina mechanic questions.

Hey everyone My A/C is not working properly and so I am assuming it needs a recharge. I am worried that I might do a recharge and find that I have leaks and my work/cash will all be for not. The other unfortunate thing is that I live in Regina and I am not sure if there are any mechanics around that...
