Re: Experience with Rising Sun Imports & comments on a vehic

I bought out of province from Rising Sun Imports, and I am very happy with them and my van. Every Delica has a different history, but at the age of import, some things should certainly be replaced. All that stuff that I was told had been replaced, was; I had this confirmed independently, and the van...

Re: L300 insulation with stock interior

Oh Yah; closing the doors makes me smile from ear to ear. It is a special, deeply gratifying, solid "THUNK". I snapped off all the old, hard black sealant that used to hold the inside metal panels to the outside metal panels. They stopped holding some time in the past and made the van vibr...

Re: L300 insulation with stock interior

I admit that this method would not be everyone's choice but it really works for me. I appreciate the efficiency of good insulation and this is an important step (along with insulated floor, ceiling, and window covers) towards creating that nice thermal bubble. Because of my future adventure plans fo...

Re: L300 insulation with stock interior

Rich D has a very good point, and anyone considering a mod like this should think carefully about it. It is a tough decision to make, but my needs for insulation are very high compared to most. My van will never carry passengers in the back, all rear seating has been removed and will not be replaced...

Re: L300 insulation with stock interior

I am just finishing the second part of my Delica insulation, the pillars and panels. Next will be window covers. My goal is to have a really comfortable, warm interior, suitable for extended winter use. I also want to make maximum use of potential living space, so insulating the cavity inside the pa...

Re: L300 insulation with stock interior

I am still very early on in my camper Delica project, but I had really good luck with "Durafoam" for the floor and ceiling. It is closed cell foam with just enough flex to fit the contours of the roof, and the 3/4 inch sheets tuck into and under the side roof beams well. I sealed the seams...

Re: Ontario Insurance Nightmare - No more RH Drives in Ontar

I can identify with the problem of insurance and registration for a RHD in Ontario. 1. Pre-purchased insurance from my current broker here in Ottawa based on the approximate asking price of the Delica and my personal driving record. Vehicle details and VIN required. Appraisal also required within 30...

Hello Delica.ca!

Hello Everyone; AJ here. Just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you so much for the forum and what seems like a great community. I got my '96 L300 from Rising Sun a few weeks ago and drove it back home to Ottawa. I spent a few weeks viewing the forum before becoming an owner, and now that I h...
